STEPHEN HAWKING’S MONUMENTAL ERROR OF AN INFINITE, “MATERIAL”, UNIVERSE
We have chosen the work of Stephen Hawking to highlight this particular Section. “Theoretical physicist” (?), Stephen Hawking had been the darling of many scientists for decades, and his many publications on space and time and other related astronomical “stuff” is lauded by his peers as being “scientifically advanced”.
If we revisit the “impossible-to-understand” human notion of infinity; Hawking unequivocally stated that the “known universe” is exactly that: Infinite. In the developing realisation among early astronomers that the universe was far larger than first thought, it was logical to initially conclude that it might go on forever, simply because it seemed to. Even Einstein initially thought the same in the early years of planetary discovery. But, of course, it cannot.
Despite those early years of cosmological uncertainty, and unlike most scientists, Einstein did not rely solely on intellectual thought-processes for his seminal conclusions. Hawking evidently regarded Einstein as ‘probably the most remarkable scientist who ever lived’. So, he must have been very aware of how Einstein arrived at his theories. The great man stated that he never came across any of his discoveries through just trying to think logically about them. He arrived at them through “intuition and revelation”. Reader, because the key to “discoveries of Truth” lie more in intuition and revelation, we will give you Einstein’s exact quote of that key fact further on in the main Work.
Now; if we run with the logical “scientific” reality that a physical universe cannot possibly go on into some kind of “forever-infinity”, why did Hawking, even quite recently, decide upon an “infinite universe” and make it the “foundation- plank” of his cosmological theories and, through them, bring millions of converts to his completely erroneous ideas? Is it solely because we humans cannot “see” the limits of our “single universe”?
Here is the “spanner in the works” for all modern-day “space people”. Hundreds of years before Mr Hawking expounded his theories and became the darling of a particular group of 20th and 21st century intellectualists, a true colossus of “logical-thinking” in astronomical science, Isaac Newton, knew that “in the stars” lay the Plan of the World! Let’s have a reality check here, reader: Seriously note that we did not say “plan of the universe”; no, we said Plan of the World!
In that “forever-belief”, the great quandary that cosmologists of the 21st century now face is how to “scientifically-cope” with an “expanding universe”; that means just our universe of somewhere close to 14 billion years old. So, in terms of what it might mean for the human race on a small planet in one galaxy, we are talking about a time-frame of billions of years into the future. So why bother? It doesn’t mean a thing now, and neither will it for hundreds of thousands of years hence. That, however, is the nature of “crass intellectualism”.
Without the greater vision that only spiritual intuition is capable of providing --- as the great Einstein wrote, and Newton surely understood --- aspects of just “earth/space considerations” are blown out of all logical proportion until they take on an almost mythical status. In the end, however, they are of little value for what is meant to be the primary purpose of our human existence; to know our spiritual dimension and thus where we ultimately come from. For if we do not know that, how can we consciously begin any kind of journey “home”. For in Truth: The World of Matter is not our true home!
Yes, it is certainly important to know the extent of our universe; for such “distances” are meant to show us that in the Great Creation, the humanly- unfathomable vastness of “space” is still only just a small part of just The World of Matter! That is what we are meant to understand ---- FIRST!
If after that, scientists can tell us about supernovae and how their immense power produces explosions beyond measure sending plasma bursts searing across light years of space-time, then those events of inconceivable power should serve to add to the wonder that is the greater Part of Creation i.e.,------- the “non-Material”!
