DISCOURSE 9
THE FIRE OF ISLAM
“FIRE” IN THE KORAN
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
“FIRE”: PHYSICAL OR SPIRITUAL?
“But the present earth and skies are treasured up by His
intention, ‘reserved for fire’ at a period of judgment and
destruction of wicked men.”
(2 Peter: 3-7, Fenton Bible. Emphases mine.)
The placing of this particular Discourse at the end of PART I of this Work brings to a close an especial thread of inviolable Divine Power issuing from The All-Truth of Imanuel that, under the unbreakable outworking of Divine Truth, directly “impacts” upon the meaning of “Fire”!
For Islam and the growing global Muslim population, therefore, the true meaning of “Fire in the Koran” is not at all what Muslim scholars have believed and taught as one of the absolutes of the “religion” of Islam!
So: The introductory Scripture about “Fire” is a powerful warning from Peter, who obviously knew what he was saying and why! Peter, the “Rock” upon which the Church should have built the pristine Truth of Christ. Not a scenario that will suit Muslims, of course. For Jesus was only a prophet in the vociferous view of Islam.
Nonetheless, in terms of “Fire”, or “The Fire” that features so strongly in the Koran, let’s first look at Islam’s interpretation of Fire. Then, reader, from out of Divine Creation-Law, we will give you the true meaning.
Right: The idea of ‘Fire’ as a punishment for transgressions against Religious Law and the like has long-been part of human lore, and certainly hundreds of years before the arrival of the Koran. As we have now seen, the Bible especially details the concept, and that will feature as the secondary though major part of this Discourse. It is the major part specifically because the grim prophecy or, more telling, the warning by Peter --- and others --- proclaimed this reality for our End-time more than 2,000 years ago. And now, in the 21st century, we have arrived!
Christian ‘scholars’, particularly, but even scientists, have puzzled over the meaning of Fire in this case. The Documentary Channels, too, have visited this prophecy from both the religious and scientific points of view, but without a definitive answer or conclusion. We, of course, should all really get one important fact into our heads; that it is not possible for there not to be answers -- to anything. There is always an answer. However, to find such answers to this question and others, only one rule really applies. Unfortunately, both religion and science are averse to engaging with the only mechanism that will open up both their worlds to the greatest possible degree, so, reader, we state it yet again.
And here it is once more: We must learn to absolutely accept --- and of course fully understand --- The Divine Laws of Creation: Creation-Law! Since they, in their Perfection, brought into being the Creations -- including us -- and also continually maintain and sustain the ‘whole’, it surely stands to reason that within those very Laws are the answers we continually seek. So, learn ‘The Law’! That concept, that reality; “ain’t rocket science”, people!
To assess, now, the meaning of ‘Fire’ from the Koran, should we simply accept at face value the Koranic verses that pertain to ‘Fire’, or ‘The Fire’? Or should we look elsewhere for an explanation? Whilst the Koran is explicit about ‘Fire’, in terms of each Verse, it does not really give any more than that. We, however, seek detailed knowledge of what Fire in the current context really means, and why we should therefore fear it and its effects upon us. Negating the very real “fear aspect” means understanding what “fire”, in terms of Creation-Law, actually is.
Since our primary ‘method to resolution’ here is to compare the “knowledge-quotient” of both the Koran and the Bible in order to offer illumination of where Truth truly resides, on this subject we will begin with relevant Verses and commentary from the Koran.
The Koranic Verses
‘Every soul will taste of death. And you will be paid your reward fully only on the Resurrection day. Then whoever is removed far from the Fire and is made to enter the Garden, he indeed attains the object. And the life of this world is nothing but a provision of vanities.’ (3:185. M.M. Ali.)
‘Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full]
compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from
the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is
the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion.’
(3:185. Saheeh Int.)
‘Every soul shall have a taste of death: and only on the Day of
Judgement shall you be paid your full recompense. Only he who is saved
far from the Fire and admitted to the Garden will have succeeded: for the
life of this world is but goods and chattels of deception’
(3:185. A.Y. Ali.)
‘Every soul shall taste of death, and ye shall only receive your
recompenses on the Day of Resurrection. And whoso shall escape the
Fire, and be brought into Paradise, shall be happy. And the life of this
world is but a cheating fruition.’
(3:185. Rodwell.)
‘Those who remember Allah standing and sitting and (lying) on their
sides, and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth: Our Lord,
Thou hast not created this in vain! Glory be to thee! Save us from the
chastisement of the Fire.’ Our Lord, whomsoever Thou makest enter the
Fire, him Thou bringest to disgrace. And there will be no helpers for the
wrongdoers.’
(3:191-192. M.M. Ali.)
‘Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or (lying) on their
sides, and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth,
(saying), “Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly, exalted are You
(above such a thing); then protect us from the punishment of the Fire.’
Our Lord, indeed whoever You admit to the Fire -- You have disgraced him,
and for the wrongdoers there are no helpers
(3:191-192. Saheeh Int.)
‘Men who remember Allah standing, sitting, and lying down on their
sides, and contemplate the (wonders) of creation in the heavens and the
earth, with the saying: ”Our Lord, not for nothing have You created (all)
this glory to You! Give us salvation from the Chastisement of the Fire.’
Our Lord! Any whom you do admit to the Fire, truly you cover with shame,
and never will the wrong-doers find any helpers.’
(3:191-192. A.Y. Ali.)
‘Who standing, and sitting, and reclining, bear God in mind, and
muse on the creation of the heavens and of the earth. “O Our Lord”, say
they, “Thou hast not created this in vain. No. Glory be to Thee! Keep us,
then, from the torment of the Fire. O our Lord! surely Thou will put him to
shame whom Thou shalt cause to enter into the Fire, and the wrongdoers
shall have none to help them.’
(3:191-192. Rodwell. Italics mine.)
The very well-respected translator of the Koran, Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall, brings to Verse 3:191 (which he has designated 3:189) a different take on the verse. And whilst his whole commentary is interesting, the last sentence in it, specifically, probably hits upon what the symbolic meaning of Fire actually translates to in real life.
“Preserve us from the doom of Fire”, reads: “It would appear from this [complete] passage that religious mentality is not at all averse to a scientific outlook, in fact the latter follows the former as a natural sequence. Ignorance is the source of all pain and misery amounting to ‘Fire’.” (Italics mine.)
Continuing that particular theme, Verse 35 in Chapter 55 (M.M. Ali) states:
“The flames of fire and sparks of brass will be sent upon you, then you will not be able to defend yourselves.”
Ali states that the Arabic word, Nuhas, “...means copper or brass or the sparks that fall from brass when it is beaten.” He notes that it is:
“...also the significance accepted by other translators, though some interpret the word as smoke. According to Dahak, their punishment in this world is spoken of here, the statement made here amounting to this, that their condition would be like one on whom fire and sparks of brass are sent. It is a fact that on most occasions where the punishment of the opponents of Truth is spoken of, it is their punishment here, as well as in the hereafter.”
From the Koran, those are the relevant Verses about “Fire”, but where is the real detail? Where are the full and complete explanations as to the exact meaning of Fire? The Koran rightly speaks of the necessity to stay away from the ‘Fire’, to live a life where there is no ‘wrong-doing’, so that ‘the Fire’ cannot impact upon one, for it chastises, it torments, and it punishes; and there is no help.
Bluntly: ‘Decisions equal consequences’. So, from our perspective, it simply means that we should obey The Law; the True Law: CREATION-LAW!
M.M. Ali’s discourse on Verse 191 (p.187) makes no reference to the consequences of disobeying Creation-Law and thus not suffering the effects of ‘Fire’. Rather, it is a quite benign mini-dissertation on ‘the characteristics of the faithful’, who do not “lie around indolently or in solitude”, but are described as:
“...remembering God in the midst of all worldly affairs and worldly pursuits, standing and sitting and lying on their sides, being thus fully conscious of the Divine presence everywhere and in all conditions; and on the other, they set out on the conquest of nature with the full consciousness that nothing has been created in vain and that a purpose underlies the whole of creation. This is the grand object that Islam sets before its followers, to conquer self by remembrance of God and to conquer nature by pursuit of knowledge.”
The reference to conquering nature is curious, simply because The Laws of Creation about which we are tasked to elucidate are also The Laws of Nature, which derive their Perfection from The Creator -- and therefore cannot be conquered.
Conquer:> v. 1. To defeat or subdue by force ..., 2. To gain or secure control..., 3. To overcome or surmount by physical, or mental, or moral force...
So, in Ali’s scholastic view, good and loyal Muslims should consciously, “set out on the conquest of nature”. Reader: If that is a stated key part of Islamic religious doctrine, then it would be a very good idea for the wealthy and comfortable Muslims of the world who are not subject --- on a yearly cycle --- to such things from Nature as monsoonal flooding on the one hand, and on the other extreme drought causing crop failure, to spend time watching the “devil’s invention” of TV and see the increasing frequency of such devastating events. Where sits M.M. Ali’s Koranic interpretation about “conquering nature”? Foolish in the extreme!
In truth, many so-called natural disasters have their genesis in humans not obeying even just basic Laws of Nature. Nature’s power in its scope and scale, therefore, is, quite obviously, awesome; not shackled but uncontained; marvellous and wondrous. We are the creatures who must adjust our ways to that awesome power; a force that we simply cannot conquer. Moreover, the great and sublime power of “Mother Nature” in her more spectacular demonstrations does not have to take human beings into account at all, and she doesn’t. That fact must surely be self-evident to every person on earth when increasing “natural catastrophes” occur. Religion and/or religious interpretation and commentary, therefore, cannot ever change that obvious reality.
Now, what does the Bible say about ‘Fire’? Before we do that, however, we should strongly reiterate Verse 35 in Chapter 55 (M.M. Ali) vis-à-vis:
“It is a fact that on most occasions where the punishment of the opponents of Truth is spoken of, it is their punishment here, as well as in the hereafter.”
We have repeated this particular sentence from M.M. Ali’s Commentary for two very important reasons:
For one: He is surely well respected enough in Islam for his interpretation to be regarded as sound and therewith defining the essence of the above Koranic Verse, and therefore for it to be very acceptable to Muslims, remembering, of course, reader, Ali’s implacable conviction that:
----- “Every word of the Holy Qur’-an is the word of God”. -----
It is critically important, therefore, to really understand the full import of the key part of the previous verse, vis-à-vis; ‘the opponents of Truth’, and their punishment here on earth and in the hereafter.
And two: This is a seriously important interpretation of a Koranic Verse, the kind of which we described in the beginning of this Work as especially relevant to any belief that an “earthly religion” can somehow lay claim to “Ownership” of The “Spirit of Truth”. The Koranic verse states, ‘opponents of Truth’, not Christian opponents, or Buddhists, or Hindus or even Muslims. No! Ali’s interpretation clearly says, ‘opponents of truth’, not even a Truth but, by unequivocal inference, the Truth.
Thus, opponents of The Truth, wherever and whoever they are, including Muslims, must, and will, suffer. For The Living Law -- from which The Truth can only derive --- is the same for all.
Reader, you should hold that clear and unassailable Truth within as you read the following explanations about what happens to “opponents of The Truth”, and thus the true meaning of ‘Fire’. To explain the Biblical side of the equation, it is imperative that we understand the critical meaning of the ‘message’ about ‘Fire’ from Peter, the disciple of Jesus.
Proclaimed towards the end of his life, Peter’s warning has been the subject of much speculation and debate by theologians and scholars of Christianity, and by scientists interviewed at various times on the three primary Documentary Channels of Discovery, National Geographic, and History.
As with most documentaries centred on Biblical historical or religious themes, there are rarely answers to be had. That is because neither those conducting the interviews, nor the interviewees, have any kind of absolute knowledge-foundation to work with in order to arrive at a definitive conclusion. The historical elements may be sound, but the rest of it invariably consists of educated guesses, assumptions, and suppositions. That is because, in a nutshell, they look in all the wrong places. Non-physical phenomena cannot always be described and/or understood by physical-criteria parameters.
Paradoxically, the answer to the question of the meaning of “fire” is not in the Bible at all, and certainly not in the Koran. And neither is it in any scientific paper, though many theories have been put forward by all camps. No. The answer can only be found in The Apocrypha, that set of Books deemed by early ‘Christian scholars’ and leaders of ‘the Church’ as not being sufficiently “whatever” for inclusion among the present Books of the Bible.
By that omission, a critically important point of essential knowledge for all of global humanity -- but more especially for Christians --- was not only pushed aside, but not ever recognised for many hundreds of years, so was effectively lost until the publication of The All-Truth of The Grail Message in the 20th century.
Through It we state --- nay proclaim --- Truth, not religion. Global humanity, and especially Catholic Europe, does not want Truth; it just wants its religion, for that is the “broad easy path”! Reader: Especially note that this writer has not found the following explanation in any publication that has crossed his path thus far. Here we set the picture right, in the recognition, once more!
So now we must talk of Ezra, for he is the major player in a very specific explanation of the spiritual meaning of ‘Fire’. But there are two Ezra’s of note.
EZRA: One of the Books of the Old Testament, and the name of the prophet associated with it. This Ezra is also mentioned in the Koran, but he does not get a good report.
“The Jews say, “Ezra is the son of Allah”, and the Christians say, “The Messiah is the son of Allah.” That is their statement from their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before (them). May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded? (9:30. Saheeh Int.)
M.M. Ali’s commentary (p.404-5) on this Verse states that a sect among the Jews raised Ezra to “...the dignity of Godhead or a son of God.” Ali notes the “...free use of the word son” among Jews and Christians. (5:18). Ali quotes the Jewish Encyclopaedia:
Among the prophets of Israel, Ezra was especially honoured. In Rabbinical literature Ezra was considered ‘worthy of being the vehicle of the law, had it not been already given through Moses.’
Now, that is the prophet Ezra of the Old Testament. The prophet we look to for an explanation of our subject matter of the moment is a very different Ezra!
THE PROPHET EZRA: “FIRE” IN THE APOCRYPHA
From “The Books of Esdras”, in the Second Book of Esdras from The Apocrypha; there we meet Ezra. From:
THE APOCRYPHA OF THE OLD TESTAMENT: REVISED STANDARD VERSION, 1957.
So, what does The Apocrypha say about itself?
Relevant Excerpts From the Preface: (Reader: Especially note my
emphases):
‘With the exception of 2 Esdras these books [nonetheless] appear in the
Greek version of the Old Testament ... but they are not included in the
Hebrew Canon of Holy Scripture. [However] Because of their inclusion in
the Latin Vulgate, the Church throughout the medieval period looked upon
these books as belonging to the Scriptures, though not unaware of their
lack of canonical status among the Jews. In 1546, the Council of Trent
decreed that the Canon of the Old Testament includes them (except the
prayer of Manasseh and 1 and 2 Esdras), and condemned anyone who
“does not accept these entire books, with all their parts, as they have
customarily been read in the Catholic Church and are found in the ancient
editions of the Latin Vulgate, as sacred and canonical.”
In the converse of that Chapter and the quest for the actual meaning of ‘Fire’, we point out to you, reader, the clear use of the word, (except), in the above statement. So, the very Book that is crucial for Global Christendom –- including and especially the line of Popes, leaders of the largest grouping of Christians on earth, Archbishops of Canterbury, and all other Protestant leaders historically --- 2 Esdras has been side-lined, ignored, and virtually expunged from everyday thought for hundreds of years. Yet, that is the very book --- the only book --- that clearly answers the meaning of “FIRE”!
The “attitude” of the “wise’ is no different today, for the same kinds of so-called ‘scholars’ of the Bible and associated ‘Sacred Writings’ in the numerous Universities and Religious colleges of the West seem not to be able to really “see” anything other than the same tired old doctrines that go nowhere, because they possess No Inner Light!
So, before we enter into 2 Esdras and the amazing visions and revelations of that prophet, Ezra, we ask you to carefully assess what we will reveal, and perhaps you, too, will be astounded and appalled at the blindness of Christianity in general.
Followers of Islam, you, too, should be open-minded enough to consider what you read here, for that is the correct spiritual way, isn’t it? A little more from Preface in the Apocrypha:
In Luther’s German translation of the Bible (1534) the Apocrypha stand
between the Old Testament and the New Testament with the title;
“Apocrypha, that is, books which are not held equal to the sacred
Scriptures, and nevertheless are good and useful to read.” The Apocrypha
did have a place in all sixteenth century English translations of the Bible,
and in the King James Version (1611).
The Puritans opposed every use of them ... and the Westminster
Confession (1648) declares: “The books commonly called Apocrypha, not
being of divine inspiration, are not part of the Canon of Scripture; and
therefore are of no authority in the Church of God, nor to be otherwise
approved, or made use of, than other human writings.” (Emphases mine.)
There we have the same condemnation of the Apocryphal Books as possessing ‘no authority’ including, of course, our key source of knowledge about ‘Fire’/’The Fire’ precisely in 2 Esdras.
The following, concluding, paragraph in the Preface at least grants The Apocrypha some measure of credibility and frees it from the severe constraints of hundreds of years of seriously-blinkered ‘religiosity’, but it has still not given it the true kudos it deserves. Perhaps what we now reveal will redress that major error, for it has a decisive bearing on both Islam and Christianity in their religious claim to “Ownership” of The Spirit of Truth.
‘The quarrels over the authority of the Apocrypha are now largely matters of the past. A generation that has witnessed the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls will probably agree with the statement by Professor Frank C. Porter, in Hastings’ Dictionary of the Bible (1901), that’ “modern historical interest, on the other hand, is putting the Apocrypha in their true place as significant documents of a most important era in religious history.”
We have now analysed, as much as we need from the Koran, Koranic scholars and their commentary, the Islamic concept of ‘Fire’ and ‘The Fire’. In accordance with the great Law of Balance from CREATION-LAW, it is now time to let Peter and Ezra speak.
DESTRUCTION BY “FIRE”
In this segment we will use mainly the Bible as the key source for our revelations. We have also ventured into other areas to cull relevant and complementary knowledge to enhance herein, this particular aspect of the Primary Premise pertaining to The Spirit of Truth. In this stage of the Work, it is necessary to look at one especially vital aspect of The Law. For this revelation we will marry, from the Bible, part of 2 Peter with part of “The Books of Esdras” (2 Esdras) from The Apocrypha.
As we have stated, the Books of The Apocrypha are not officially regarded as having the same degree of importance as the Books of ‘The Bible’. Whilst still an ‘addition’ or ‘Addendum’ to the Catholic Bible, the ‘Apocryphal’ Books were removed from Protestant Bibles by the British and Foreign Bible Society (primarily the Anglican Church) in the 19th century. Despite the unfortunate relegation of The Apocrypha to almost anonymity for probably the greater mass of global Christendom by the Church hierarchy, that body of work should nonetheless be recognised as being absolutely essential for a far greater degree of elucidation around certain key questions in the Bible that, at present, have no logical answers from Christendom, as in the case of one of the most crucial questions of all --- which we address now.
The APOCRYPHA, in concert with the Bible, provides the answer to it, thus giving a comprehensive picture of the whole by filling a knowledge-gap not so far addressed adequately by Christian theology. However, precisely because The Apocrypha is officially designated as a lesser work by Christendom overall, quotes from the Book of Esdras may be deemed to not carry the same authority as those from the Bible. Yet the two Books of Esdras not only provide the very answer to Peter’s perhaps cryptic prophecy, but in it is the most powerful and relevant spiritual insight and revelation for this very time --- for the earth and all its peoples and all its religions.
The question of “Destruction by Fire”, long mulled over theologically, has now also been assessed from the scientific standpoint. From the earth-science perspective -- and perhaps to a large degree from the theological side with regard to an apocalyptic scenario -- destruction by fire for global humanity tends towards such things as intense and widespread volcanic activity, a meteor impact, extreme drought, and perhaps prolonged solar activity.
Muslim scholar M.M. Ali offers one idea as to what he thinks “destruction by fire” might mean, so let’s include it in this appropriate section. His commentary on the possible meaning of Koranic verse 81:12a probably resonates with many westerners too. The verse says: ‘And when hell is kindleda’.
Despite the verse being short and to the point, his “explanatory” commentary on 12a paints a very wide canvas indeed.
‘It should be noted that apart from the hell of the next life, the Holy Qur-an very often speaks of a hell in this life. Compare 79:36 and read 79:34 a. Just as the righteous are promised heaven in this very life, the wicked are told that hell would be kindled for them here, if they had only the eyes to see it. And indeed there has been a veritable hell raging in this life since the Second World War. The forces of materialism have already engulfed the world in a burning hell, and another World War would only make the flames appear the more hideous.’
A “burning hell”? Yes, in certain instances, the Western Powers certainly stand indicted here. On the Islamic side, however; what is that today if it is not also Jihadist suicide bombers devising all manner of detonations to cause murder and maiming in the fires of their explosives in mindless religious madness, even in marketplaces; to prove what? That they are “great warriors” for Allah, killing people who have no means of defending themselves? In the end, cowards all! So no, M.M. Ali, that is not the answer!
Now, reader: The real answer, whilst simple and straightforward, is ultimately far more profound for human beings of Planet Earth than any notion which might suggest catastrophic natural events as being the primary driver for destruction by fire, and humanity thereby being physically burned. Though, of course, with certain natural phenomena, that is not just possible but very likely for some. Moreover, even for very many, when such phenomena finally gives vent to its full power at its time of ordination. Now, whilst that will one day be a problematic reality for humankind, the distilled meaning of ‘destruction by fire’ here means something very, very different.
The Book of Daniel is often used to mathematically calculate significant dates in a time-line of major events which many Christians believe reveals ‘the time of the end’. Ezra, in our view clearly an important “apocalyptic prophet” in the mould of Daniel, offers a singularly vital key to the most crucial aspect of that approaching time; what exactly it is that will constitute the actual “force” of destruction and cleansing, and Who will bring it. Or, perhaps, Who It was that might already have brought it! Since we have earlier clarified the identities of both Jesus and Imanuel, the exercise we undertake now is simply to add considerably more weight to the outworking of Creation-Law for a rapidly approaching time of great upheaval and, in concert, reveal the true meaning of ‘The Fire’.
The Prophecies of Daniel might have some relevance –- in terms of a viable time-frame -- if an arrival is still to be expected. However, since that has already taken place, then the mathematical analyses from Daniel are logically rendered irrelevant and what we explain from 2 Peter and 2 Esdras equally-logically fits that new and present reality.
For Islam, of course, that is not possible for, according to the Koran, Muhammed is the one who was sent for all of mankind. Peter, being just a disciple of Jesus, just the “son of Mary” in Islamic literature, would not therefore carry much weight for serious prophetic warnings for latter-day humanity. As we have said, according to Koranic scholars, Muhammed brought it all 1,400 odd years ago.
Despite those very big claims of Islam, after 1,400 years we are all still awaiting the outworking of end-time or destruction-prophecies expounded in many different religions and faiths, not just Islam and Christianity. Jews at the time of Christ thought that ‘the end’ would come shortly after their murder of Him. It was certainly the end of Jerusalem as their Holy City. Early Christians believed that the year 1,000 would mark the end of the era. The great plague of Europe and the Great Fire of London also provided markers for a ‘believed end’. More recently, various groups have sold property and committed group suicide, all in their belief, and perhaps calculations, that the end was near.
None could ever have been correct, because the “final sorting out” of totally intransigent and very foolish human notions, beliefs and practices -- particularly in religion -- was reserved, ordained, for our time. The Event, therefore, could, and will, only occur when very specific criteria are fulfilled. The Primary one already has, but not through Islam or the Koran!
Borrowed from our earlier quote, Pickthall offers very relevant commentary on the whole of Verse 3:189 of his translation for this segment, but specifically the last sentence vis-à-vis:
“Preserve us from the doom of Fire”. He notes: “It would appear from this [complete] passage that religious mentality is not at all averse to a scientific outlook, in fact the latter follows the former as a natural sequence. Ignorance is the source of all pain and misery amounting to ‘Fire’.” 3. “So Revelation and thinking are recognised as the two reliable sources of knowledge in their respective spheres.” (Italics mine.)
Let’s now see if the use, or at least part use, of Hegel’s ‘Dialectic Process’ can bring both Islam and Christianity to a common Revelatory understanding of ‘Fire’ and its inherent association to, and with, The Spirit of Truth. For Ezra offers sure and unequivocal Revelation to this very process.
Peter, towards the end of his life, offers advice to the growing numbers of Christians around him about what to expect at the end of the times. Fenton sub-titles Peter’s discourse thus:
“The Irrevocable Word of God”
“You should first recognise this, that during the latter times
deceivers will come with deception, gratifying their own passions, and
asking, “Where is the promise of His appearing? for since the
forefathers went to sleep, everything continues the same from the
beginning of the creation.” For they willingly suffer to hide from them
this reason, that by the intention of God the skies existed from of old,
and the earth with water above and water below, arranged for the
purpose of God, by means of which the then existing world perished,
by the water having rushed down. But the present earth and skies are
treasured up by His intention, ‘reserved for fire’ at a period of
judgment and destruction of wicked men.”
(2 Peter: 3-7, Emphases mine.)
Peter’s explanation of how and why the deluge at the time of Noah was possible on the scale intimated -- of which there seems to be some scientific evidence -- may offer some insight into understanding the “mechanics” of it. Obviously, a lot of water had to fall to achieve an inundation sufficiently large to destroy what was on at least part of the earth. Equally obviously, the water had then to drain somewhere for the hills to reappear. It is not our intention to delve further here, but the reader may wish to contemplate on certain passages in Genesis that “seem” to complement Peter’s explanation for the “deluge”. As we have previously noted, the Disciples of Jesus received far more knowledge about more aspects of the world and Creation than any other men up to that time. The key point here now is Peter’s statement:
“...that the present earth and skies...” are “...reserved for fire at a period of judgment and destruction of wicked men”.
The singular word “fire” provides the key to understanding what is not only to come, but what is already occurring.
So: What might we believe fire would mean in this case? Given that it will be a time of unimaginable desolation, we could perhaps envision a huge and fiery celestial object colliding with earth. The Revelation does state that as an actual impending event in our probable ‘near-future’. Or it could perhaps be an extremely large “coronal mass ejection” (CME) from the sun which reaches out and envelopes the globe destroying (frying) all electrical and electronic components in everything on it; from power stations to aircraft to all computerised control systems affecting every single facet of our ‘modern’ world.
(In 2011 NASA warned that increasing solar activity would peak sharply in 2012, with the possibility of exactly that kind of damage to global electronics that did not have the necessary shielding to protect the systems from the effects of the electro-magnetic blast/s from the sun. Modern electronics are not built to withstand such power-blasts. Though the prediction was scientifically sound, the effects were, fortunately, not serious enough to cause major disruption.)
A massive CME that blasts the whole earth would, however, have catastrophic effects akin to an extinction event, for it would effectively reduce all ‘first-world’ countries to ‘third-world’ status virtually in an instant. Its ‘power’ would cause immediate and irreparable damage to the computerised control systems that regulate every facet of our lives, even food production. Power stations would be ‘knocked out’, meaning that cities would simply cease to function --- for many years. The inevitable result of such a scenario would be fear and panic, and thus anarchy and wide-spread death. In the aftermath, Northern hemisphere winters would kill off most living there.
So even though the word fire usually means flames, burning and heat, does it actually mean that here? From The Apocrypha, The Book of Esdras, Chapter 13, Verse 2, the prophet Ezra recounts a dream which is afterwards interpreted for him by the “Messenger of Light”. The key to understanding the meaning of the “fire” that Peter alludes to -- and would no doubt have understood -- lies in the following relevant excerpts.
Initially featuring the sea wherefrom a wind arose and stirred up the waves, Ezra’s dream then showed the wind make something like the figure of a man emerge from the heart of the sea. That man then:
“...flew with the clouds of heaven...”, and wherever he turned his face to look, “...everything under his gaze trembled, and whenever his voice issued from his mouth...”, all who heard it “... melted as wax melts when it feels the fire ...”.
After this Ezra beheld “...an innumerable multitude of men gathered together from the four winds of heaven...” to make war against the man who came up out of the sea. Ezra saw the “man” carve out for himself a great mountain and fly up onto it. But he was unable to see or recognise the region or place where it was. After that he saw that all who had gathered to fight him were “...much afraid, yet dared to fight”. When the multitude rushed at him, “...he neither lifted his hand nor held a spear or weapon of war”. But Ezra observed how he:
“...sent forth from his mouth as it were a stream of ‘fire’, and from his lips a flaming breath, and from his tongue he shot forth a storm of sparks”.
Repeated here in serious reinforcement, M.M. Ali’s commentary on Verse 35, Chapter 55, surely finds its greatest resonance here with Ezra’s vision and the “Messenger of Light” sent to interpret it. (All emphases are mine.)
“The flames of fire and sparks of brass will be sent
upon you, then you will not be able to defend yourselves.”
“...their punishment in this world is spoken of here, the statement made here
amounting to this, that their condition would be like one on whom fire and sparks
of brass are sent. It is a fact that on most occasions where the punishment of the
opponents of Truth is spoken of, it is their punishment here, as well as in the
hereafter.”
Ezra saw that all three were mingled together --- “the stream of fire”, “the flaming breath” and “the great storm”. These fell on the attacking multitude and burned them all up. Nothing was left but the dust of ashes and the smell of smoke.
[To repeat: Ali, (55:35), states that the Arabic word, Nuhas, “...means copper or brass or the sparks that fall from brass when it is beaten.” He notes, however, that some “...interpret the word as smoke”.] (Emphases mine.)
After this Ezra saw the same “man” come down from the mountain and call to another multitude which was peaceable. In great fear Ezra awoke and besought an interpretation from the God. His petition was answered, and the key elements of the vision follow. The Messenger sent to Ezra then spoke:
“This is the interpretation of the vision. As for your seeing a man come up from out of the heart of the sea, this is he whom the Most High has been keeping for many ages, who will himself deliver his creation, and he will direct those who are left. And as for your seeing wind and fire and a storm coming out of his mouth, and as for his not holding a spear or weapon of war, yet destroying the onrushing multitude which came to destroy him, this is the interpretation.”
The “interpreter” then tells Ezra that the time would come when:
“...bewilderment of mind...” would come over those “...who dwell on the earth”. And they would make war against one another, “...city against city, place against place, people against people, and kingdom against kingdom”. “And when these things come to pass and the signs occur which I showed you before, then my Son will be revealed, whom you saw as a man coming up from out of the sea.”
The next segment from The Book of Esdras provides the link with 2 Peter. The aspects of primary significance in this particular analysis are emphasised either in italics, in bold, underlined, capitalised, or varying combinations of all.
“And when all the nations hear his voice, every man shall leave his own land and the warfare that they have against one another, and an innumerable multitude shall be gathered together, as you saw, desiring to come and conquer him - - And he, my Son, will reprove the assembled nations for their ungodliness [symbolised by the storm], and will reproach them to their face with their evil thoughts and the torments with which they are to be tortured (symbolised by the flames), and will destroy them without effort by THE LAW – CREATION-LAW! ” (Symbolised by the ‘fire’.)
Here we have a clear pointer linking the warnings of Peter -- thus from the Bible -- through the clarified vision of Ezra -- from The Apocrypha -- to the outworking of Creation-Law on the affairs of mankind. Only with the essential contribution of the prophet, Ezra, can the true spiritual meaning of “Destruction by Fire” be answered logically. And only with the requisite spiritual guidance to link the Bible with The Apocrypha could we reveal that answer: An answer automatically mandated by the fact of the Perfection of The Laws of Creation, the explanations of which we are directed -- thus graciously permitted -- to Proclaim in this Work.
The crucial knowledge of Creation-Law deriving from, and inherent within, Divinity Itself, gives back to the Bible its proper place and status. The terrible and inexcusable distortion of clear Truths in that especial Work -- perversely clung to by blind millions -- count strongly towards the impending total collapse of all facets of wrong human behaviour and endeavour. The associated destruction should be recognised as being produced by the spiritually-lawful effect of the “fire”; which is:
“Whenever his voice issued from his mouth ...” all who heard it “...melted as wax melts when it feels the fire...”
That is the key to understanding the effect of The Living Words of The Law! Whether written or spoken by ‘The One’ -- The Spirit of Truth -- Who brings ‘the Complete’: The ‘Formed Word’ Proclaimed by Him is thus transformed into commensurate real-time outworking over the period of its ordained fulfilment in The World of Matter. And therewith is produced -- under the aegis of Inviolable Law in Creation -- the outworking of Peter’s warning of “destruction by fire” upon our completely aspiritual global societies, cultures, and religions.
Quite obviously, therefore, very many of we -- the agglomerated human race -- will fully experience Peter’s prophecy. Therefore, human works that comply with The Law will quite naturally prosper. From Proverbs 29:18. Emphases mine:
“Without revelation, a Nation fades. But it prospers by knowing the Law.
Works that do not will suffer destruction. By this infallible measure we may recognise what is true to The Law and what is not. The ‘fire’ of The Law thus unerringly produces the concomitant cleansing effect; (also The Law). The powerful impact of the storm, the flames, and the fire -- which are all already strongly affecting mankind so detrimentally now -- is solely the result of our intransigence, our arrogance and our stupidity in refusing to believe or accept the one single and ultimate reality in the whole of Creation. And that is:
That only THE LAW — CREATION-LAW — reigns Supreme!
There is nothing else! Everything in all of the Creations was formed from out of The Living Law Itself: From out of THE WILL OF GOD -- IMANUEL!
It is HE Who thus brings The Living Law, the ‘cleansing fire’, proclaimed by the prophet Ezra in The Book of Esdras from The Apocrypha --- and DID! Let us remind ourselves once more, of the spiritual blindness of the very long line of “the wise” of “the Church” who almost condemned The Apocrypha to oblivion, and who therefore were “not wise” after all. Emphases mine here too:
“Apocrypha, that is, books which are not held equal to the sacred Scriptures...”, and nevertheless are good and useful to read “The books commonly called Apocrypha, not being of divine inspiration, are no part of the Canon of Scripture; and therefore are of no authority in the Church of God, nor to be otherwise approved, or made use of, than other human writings.”
Perhaps we should consider the very real possibility that despite the machinations of men who sought earthly wealth and power at the calculated expense of the Truth of God, the Power of The Light nonetheless held The Apocrypha safe from being expunged from the consciousness of man so that in this present time it could finally “link” its Truth to The Spirit of Truth’s All-Truth and the crucially-unassailable meaning of The FIRE clearly explained --- clearly illuminated --- in the once-condemned pages of the Apocrypha!
So-called “leaders” of Christianity: You really need to get your heads around the fact that in your blind intransigence, your religion, with all its appalling distortions, has actually condemned the very Truth Itself. That is why you have not recognised the most important Event ever, and you will certainly not believe now.
For, how can you? It would mean admitting you have been wrong virtually since the very inception of Christianity. As for Governments and the inevitable lies to those whom you are meant to govern rightly, you, too, stand indicted.
To the obscenely wealthy --- to those of you who do nothing good with your wealth except hoard it --- to you is directed the most wonderful Truth:
“What does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and loses his soul.” That means your very life force, the actual you.
Reader: Do you think as the author of this Work, I have the right to say these kinds of things? They have all been said before, so why not again? In any case, Truth is always Truth, and every person has the right --- even the duty --- to so speak for IT.
Let us remind ourselves of the Great Prophet, Isaiah’s, warning for our time now, and why it was delivered. Around 2,800 years ago, Isaiah saw in visions what has already begun to happen. He proclaimed the kinds of events that have now not only occurred, but the outcome of which has forced earth-scientists to rewrite their ‘theories’ about the ‘power’ of ‘earth activity’.
For man’s evolutionary journey to true knowledge, Isaiah saw in his time what we today know to be ‘activity’ at least partly associated with ‘Plate Tectonics’.
‘The “Earth” is utterly broken down, the “Earth” is clean dissolved, the
“Earth” is moved exceedingly.
The “Earth” shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed from
her place.’
How much of that chilling potential can we attribute to human decisions, societal attitudes, and concomitant global activity? Isaiah certainly pulled no punches in identifying why. Bad human decisions will obviously produce bad outcomes, not only for human societies but for the planet as a whole. That is our present legacy and reality. Decisions = consequences!
‘The “Earth” mourns and fades away, the “World” languishes and fades
away, the haughty people of the “Earth” do languish.
The “Earth” also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they
have transgressed the “Laws”, changed the decrees, broken the
everlasting covenant.
Therefore has the curse devoured the “Earth”, and those that dwell therein
are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the “Earth” are burned, and few
men left.’
(Isaiah 24:19-20 and 24:4-6, Emphases mine.)
Therefore, what we even now experience is nevertheless still just the beginnings of the storm, the flames and the ‘Fire’ -- THE LAW. Therewith are we “burned”!
Reader: What do you believe? You have been with this narrative for some time now. Is His arrival imminent, as Christians believe, do you think? Has He already been as Islam claims Muhammad to have been? Or do you accept our Proclamation; that He really did “...come like a thief in the night...”; that only the few were awake to recognise Him, and that the world had therefore missed The Event?
Readers, of whatever faith or belief -– or none: That is the meaning of ‘fire/the fire’ we have been directed to explain; in the first instance to Islam and Christianity but, because it will seriously impact upon all human inhabitants, it is necessarily proclaimed to all!
Now you can perhaps make a better determination than otherwise was the case before you began reading this Work. You, as with all human beings inherently possess the attribute of Free Will.
That means: Whatever you determine as Truth, will bring its commensurate reciprocal effect to you and thus upon you. If you are a Muslim, open your spirit and see what is really here, for in this Discourse about ‘Fire’, I have fulfilled that which I was directed to Proclaim!
That the Spirit of Truth, Imanuel, through the Living Word of Truth of His Grail Message, produced the sparks, the flames, the fire, that are even now singing, burning, and destroying all of intransigent humankind’s many false works --- including the religions that appallingly distort His Perfect TRUTH!
To close PART I, we will conclude the Primary Section of this Mandated Work with Words of Divine Power from the Hand of Imanuel! Appropriately in the framework of rapidly-deteriorating global societies, the Title of the Lecture from which we quote is surely fitting. HE clearly explains WHY!

SUBMISSION
Abd-ru-shin: “SON OF MAN”
And “ETERNAL MEDIATOR”!
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Reader: Remember our opening quote from Peter: “But the present earth and skies are treasured up by His intention, ‘reserved for fire’ at a period of judgment and destruction of wicked men.”
And in direct concert; from the Lecture; “SUBMISSION” ----- “Torn down in the process”!
They must surely be the simplest words to describe the often unbelievable insanity we all view almost nightly on TV screens across the globe. And from the wonderful Apocrypha:
“And he, my Son, will reprove the assembled nations for their ungodliness (symbolised by the storm), and will reproach them to their face with their evil thoughts and the torments with which they are to be tortured (symbolised by the flames), and will destroy them without effort by THE LAW ------------
THE DIVINE LAWS OF CREATION! ” [Symbolised by “The Fire”.]
Thankfully, His words of assurance offer comfort for at least some.
“Rejoice; for this Divine Justice is near!”
