DISCOURSE 13

THE LAW OF MOVEMENT!

THE “CREATION-LAW” OF MOTION

Movement = “Life.”

Reader: That being the case --- and a fact surely obvious to all in just the minute-by-minute, everyday activity of the Forces of Nature --- let us immediately begin this Discourse with words from out of The Living Law! Following that, we will look at the concept of Movement from philosophy, and note everyday examples not so obvious to the eye, and then hear more from the Great Work of Imanuel!

MOTION ----- A LAW OF CREATION

Look about you, men, and you will see how you have to live here on earth! It is not difficult to recognise the Primordial Laws in Creation if you only strive to observe everything around you in the right way.
Motion is a basic law in the entire Creation, thus also on earth. Motion of the right kind! But it is just this law which has been disregarded and also applied in the wrong way.
It was only through motion that everything could come into being. Upon motion, incessant motion, therefore depends the preservation and restoration of all that Creation embraces. Man cannot be considered an exception. He cannot be the only one among the creatures to remain stationary in the midst of this animating movement, or go his own way without harm to himself.
The intellectual goal of many people on earth today is rest and a comfortable life. To spend the last years of their life on earth in comfort is for many human beings the crowning of all their activity. But what they are longing for is poison, and they bring about the beginning of their end therewith! -
The man who really retires here on earth, who wishes to rest from his activities until the end of his life, such a man will be cast aside by the law of rhythmic movement of this Creation as being an over-ripe fruit, because all the swinging, the movement around him, is much stronger than the movement within himself, which must keep in step. Such a man is bound to grow weak and fall ill. Only when his individual swinging and alertness keep pace with the prevailing movement in Creation, only then can he remain healthy, hearty and happy.
The saying: “Stagnation is retrogression” gives an idea of this great law. Movement alone assures progress and preservation for everything that is to be found in Creation. I have already firmly established this in my lecture: “Life”.
He who literally wishes to retire completely here on earth has no longer any goal before him, and thus no right to continue living in this Creation, because he has set an “end” to himself through his volition. The swinging of Creation, however, does not show any end, it has no end. Continuous development through movement is a law in the Will of God and can therefore never be circumvented without ill effect. -------------------
A life full of work but without any spiritual aim, for instance, is of no avail. The physical body would swing in the rhythm of Creation but the spirit would stand still. And if the spirit does not simultaneously swing in the God-willed rhythm of Creation, then the body that does not swing in with it will not be maintained and strengthened through its work, but become worn out and exhausted, because it does not receive the spiritual strength which it needs through mediation of the animistic. (Elemental forces of nature.) The stagnation of the spirit hampers the full development of the body. Consequently the body in its swinging must consume itself, causing it to wither and decay. It can no longer be regenerated, because the source for this, the spiritual swinging, is lacking. ----------------------
A spiritual goal, however, is not to be sought upon earth, but will only be found towards the Spiritual Realm, in the homogeneous plane of this wonderful Creation! It must therefore be a goal which stands above what is earthly, a goal which towers high above this life on earth! The goal must live, must be alive! Otherwise it has nothing to do with the spirit!
The man of today, however, no longer knows what is spiritual. He has substituted the working of the intellect for it, and considers intellectual activity to be spiritual activity. This now gives him the final blow which brings about his downfall, for he is clinging to something that remains on earth together with his body when he himself must enter the beyond!
A spiritual goal is always something which contains furthering values. ------------------
Nine-tenths of today’s sciences must be accounted as false activity and useless striving in Creation. The sciences as they are now practised hinder the ascent of those who are concerned with them; they bring about stagnation and retrogression, but never that progress which leads to ascent. -----------------------------------
Motion is the main commandment for everything that lies in this Creation, for Creation developed out of motion, and is maintained and renewed by motion. -----------------
Therefore you must at last become acquainted with all the laws and adjust yourself accordingly! -------------
Without constant movement you can no longer maintain yourself in Creation. You cannot bask in the splendour of your ancestors, the son in the glory of his father! The wife has no share in the deeds of her husband. Each individual stands entirely alone, by himself, in this matter. Only the present is what counts for you, for it is the present which really “is” for a human spirit. This is how it is in the entire Creation, and this is how it shall also be in the future among the hitherto sluggish human beings on earth!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Noting the fact that “Movement” as a Divine Law and thus a Force of immense Power exists in and throughout Creation; and in the natural world of earth “constant movement” in Nature is surely obvious to everyone, we will therefore dispense with our normal format of assessing this particular Law from the Islamic and Judaic perspective. Further on where the same Law is examined in its more telling “Spiritual Law” reality; perhaps there we may look at the Muslim and Jewish perspective --- if there is any relevant “knowledge” in those two religions of this crucial Divine Law. Otherwise, we won’t bother!

In truth, if we take just one key point from the above text, we could not possibly go wrong by striving to do the following:

“Therefore you must at last become acquainted with all the laws and adjust yourself accordingly.”

The philosopher Heraclitus (c.540-480 BC) of Ephesus in Asia Minor believed that the concept of “universal reason” or “universal law” is something common to all and which guides not only every person but also everything that happens in nature. Yet he observed that instead of following this “higher guidance”, most people lived by their individual beliefs. This “something”, which was the source of everything, he called God or logos – meaning reason.

Heraclitus also postulated a new concept; that of ‘flux’ or ‘continuous change’. He observed that everything ‘flowed’; everything is in continual movement and that nothing stands still. He expressed this concept of constant change by saying that “...you cannot step twice into the same river”. The river changes because “...fresh waters are ever (streaming) in upon you”. Heraclitus thought that this concept of ‘continuous change’ “...must apply not only to rivers but to all things, including the soul of man”. Rivers and men exhibit the fascinating fact of becoming different “...and yet remaining the same”. We return to the ‘same’ river although fresh waters have (entered it), “... and the man is still the same person as the boy”. (Philosophy History and Problems. Third Edition p 12-13.) Therefore, when we step into a river for the second time, neither we nor the river are the same.

Everything, literally everything, is in constant motion. Movement is the one activity that ensures the maintenance of life in all things. Without movement everything would become sluggish and eventually come to a complete standstill, a situation akin to death and disintegration. Therefore “Motion” can be stated to be a most necessary principle throughout Creation. In concert: The higher and lighter the Plane of Creation, the faster the motion. And conversely, therefore, the further away from The Source of Life --- as for example in the Material Planes --- the more sluggish the motion. As “movement” is thus a vital principle, all other laws can be said to operate within the parameters of this most important Law. However, the movement must be of the right kind and in harmony with all else if it is to bring benefit.

So: Could we ever imagine life in the Universe and on earth without the elemental activity of the Forces of Nature bringing movement? We observe the daily rotation of the earth to give the very necessary ‘contrast’ of day and night for both diurnal and nocturnal activities of all plants and creatures in the circadian rhythm of 24-hour periodicity required for those processes. The earth rotates around the sun to provide the four seasons. These in turn produce the different weather patterns needed for planting and harvesting. The motion of the winds ensures freshness and change where there might otherwise be staleness.

Consider the moon’s rotation around the earth, offering its different phases and bringing the rise and fall of the tides. Consider, also, the great ocean currents that constantly mix the waters of our “blue planet” and the movement of the continents over the liquid core of the earth in the powerful activity of “plate tectonics”, instrumental in the formation of new lands. Constant movement equals constant renewal. Further out into the incomprehensible vastness of the observable universe, galaxies of immense size wheel and rotate billions of suns to a commensurate primordial rhythm.

Science has long discovered that individual cells, molecules and atoms are “alive” with the constant movement of sub-particles, with each fitting perfectly into its ordained place to become part of the whole. And even in the microscopic sub-atomic world where the behaviour of quarks and neutrinos appear to circumvent all the known scientific laws they still, nevertheless, follow the dictates of Universal Law. It is our non-understanding of those laws that force us to declare our lack of knowledge at such behaviour.

The rocks of the earth, even though appearing to be solid, dense and lifeless, are also awhirl with active movement. A crystal-clear glass of clean water gives no hint of the motion of electrons, protons and neutrons in the structure and composition of either the glass or the water. Animal and human bodies have the same basic activity in their molecular structure also, whether living and breathing, or dead and decomposing.

The physical body, with which we are all familiar, signals to us the need for constant movement in order to remain healthy. In breathing we quite automatically accept the rise and fall of the chest as the lungs inhale and exhale. The heart pumps blood in necessary circulation throughout the body. Exercise keeps the body healthy and strong. Inactivity weakens it. The demands of the toilet call us to the process of the elimination of body wastes at various times during the day. Even in supposedly restful sleep there is still the need for the body to change its position more often than we might be aware of during the sleep state. Everything must obey The Law of Movement if it is to remain healthy and not stagnate.

That surely makes eminent sense, does it not? That being a clear truism; what would happen if necessary “movement” is not of the “right kind”? What would that mean for the individual or, indeed and perhaps more telling, collective global humanity? Well, let’s get an answer to our question from The “Spirit of Truth” Himself!

RIGIDITY

Everything in Creation is movement. Brought into being strictly according to Law by the pressure of the Light, movement produces heat through which forms are able to unite. Thus without Light there could be no movement, and therefore man can also imagine that in the proximity of the Light the movement must even be far more rapid and strong than at a vast distance from It.
In fact the greater the distance from the Light, the slower and more sluggish becomes the movement. In time it may even lead to the rigidity of all forms which had already taken shape when at first the movement was still more animated.
The expression “Light” in this connection does not, of course, refer to the Light of some planet, but to the Primordial Light, which is Life itself, therefore God! ---
I have said that the movement in Creation must become progressively slower the further away anything is from the Primordial Light, the starting point of the pressure which subsequently brings about movement.
So is it with the earth at the present time. Through the guilt of earthmen its orbits have become increasingly distant. As a result the movements are becoming slower, ever more sluggish, and thereby much has already approached the stage where rigidity sets in.
Rigidity also has very many stages; in its beginnings it is not so easy to recognise. Even while it is progressing, recognition remains impossible unless a flash of light for once stimulates the keenest observation.
This recognition is difficult simply because everything living within the sphere of the steadily slackening movements is also drawn uniformly into the increasing denseness that leads to rigidity. This applies not only to the body of a human being, but to everything, including his thinking. It affects even the most minute things. Imperceptibly every concept also changes and becomes distorted, even those concerning the actual meaning of the language.
Since he himself is drawn along in the same sluggish vibration, man cannot notice this in his neighbour, unless from out of his inner being he seeks once more to fight his way upwards spiritually with the strongest volition and with tenacity, so as again to come a little nearer to the Light. His spirit will then gradually become more mobile, thus lighter and more luminous, and will influence his earthly recognition.
Terrified and aghast with horror, however, he will then see, or at least intuitively perceive, how far the distortions of all concepts have already progressed in rigidity on this earth. The far-seeing view of how things really are is lacking, because everything has been pressed into narrow and obscure limits which can no longer be penetrated, and must in time completely stifle everything they embrace.
I have already pointed out distorted concepts; but now, through the steady withdrawal from the Light, these are slowly proceeding on the downward path to rigidity.
It is unnecessary to give individual examples, for either no attention whatever would be paid to such explanations, or they would be described as tiresome quibbling, because man is much too rigid or too indolent to want to give them serious reflection. ----
So much is already in the first stage of rigidity. Soon your entire thinking may already be gripped by it and must flow through rigid, iron channels, bringing you nothing but uneasiness, suffering upon suffering, and finally forcibly degrading you from a human being to the state of an empty machine serving only the Darkness, far away from all Light. ------

“So much is already in the first stage of rigidity. Soon your entire thinking may already be gripped by it and must flow through rigid, iron channels, bringing you nothing but uneasiness, suffering upon suffering...”

Reader: Was that not the state of “us” that developed so decisively from 2020 --- “suffering upon suffering, bringing nothing but uneasiness”?

Inherent with the Natural Laws is the sure outworking of severe reciprocity for all aberrant practices that transgress “her” sacrosanct Laws! The Pestilence of Covid 19 was a perfect example of how we humans will not obey The Law, and thereby further entrench blind rigidity.

Mother Nature shows us the way, for in no shape or form could “she” be termed “rigid”. “She” is certainly awesomely-powerful, but in that “lawful power” lives both the gift of elemental life to the earth and its inhabitants, and severe retribution for all stupid transgressions. To hammer home that point again:

The Laws of Nature are the Expression of The Will of God on Earth”!

We see Mother Nature’s perfection everywhere. Rivers and streams remain fresh and oxygenated through Movement. The world’s great river systems yearly transport millions of tons of silt to form large, fertile deltas at their mouths. In man-made lakes where dams block rivers to the point where the amount of draw-off prevents natural spillage, the horizontal layers of the impounded bodies of water can still have displacing movement between them, even to the point of complete inversion of whole lakes.

In the world of birds and fishes, lack of the right kind of necessary movement has resulted in the loss of certain abilities that some once possessed. For example, there are fish that are no longer able to withstand the currents and must remain near the bottom. Certain birds in various parts of the world have lost the ability to ‘become airborne’ through not having used their wings over a long period of time. These examples showing the principle of adaptation, with which biological scientists are familiar, are a consequence of the outworking of The Law of Movement in an especial way.

Now, reader: Up to this point we have only examined the physical effect of this Law. In the first instance, however, it is a Spiritual Law. Therefore, in the case of the physical body, each individual movement must first be “willed” by the spirit, because the spirit --- as we now clearly know --- is the animating force, “the power pack”, within each of us. The “animating signal” between spirit and body that permits us to sip a cup of coffee or animate the hand and fingers to compose a symphony happens so quickly as to be virtually simultaneous and thus mostly imperceptible in its time-lapse aspect. Because that is so, the reality of that process is probably lost on most human beings because bodily movements are generally considered to be triggered by electrical brain activity solely. That is the human consideration.

In the natural world its activity demands that every creature and plant strive to maintain its place or perish. Spiritual activity must produce the same, and more, if there is to be growth and ascent. Therefore, effort must be expended if we wish to achieve anything of lasting value. We cannot sit back and expect wonderful things to just happen. Whether applied to the physical, mental, or spiritual, laziness in any one area is a transgression against this Eternal Law. Moreover, the different kinds of activities --- spiritual, intellectual, and physical ---- must always be kept in proper balance. Without spiritual activity as a necessary counterpoise, physical and intellectual expenditure of effort will ultimately be worthless.

We can extrapolate from this that a genuinely spiritual goal will always have furthering values that will never change and, by definition, be far-reaching and beneficial. Present trends allow people to eagerly anticipate retirement after a lifetime of work. The thought of the remaining years of life spent in blissful inactivity appeals to many. Yet this offends against The Law too. Of course, the elderly could not be expected to maintain the same level of activity that a much younger person might.

Nevertheless, for the older body to maintain reasonable health, movement of the right kind is still necessary. Fortunately, current directions now see more and more of the elderly pursuing this beneficial course. The “acceptance of change” that time and development naturally bring under The Law of Movement permits one phase of life to lead into the next, for “movement” is designed to bring about further development.

Conversely, “workaholics”, some professional sports people, along with others engaged in constant frenetic activity, actually transgress this Law, and will thus eventually harm themselves. A sense of balance should be maintained in all that we do by adjusting our pace to a natural rhythm which is connected to The Law of Movement. Perhaps the latter-day phrase: “Everything in moderation”, is a subconscious reaction to the increasingly unnatural pace of modern society.

In heeding The Law of Movement, we also need to obey The Law of Balance as well, for the outworking of this Law is also a consequence of motion.

History’s testament to the rise and fall of some of the great civilisations provides excellent examples of what occurs if the correct “Spiritual” movement is not maintained. The rise to greatness can show the right kind of movement, whilst the disintegration process invariably indicates the opposite. The Law of Movement decrees that no one person, group or Nation can simply stop and rest on past or even present glories. What has been achieved, if spiritually worthwhile, must be maintained, or stagnation, retrogression and disintegration will quickly follow. In the same way, persons who have been publicly honoured by society should be required to maintain that position of honour.

The propensity of many to attempt to live in the past offends against The Law of Movement also. The current strong cultural trend in some ethnic communities to promote tribal links and/or a return to tribalism clearly transgresses The Law of Movement in both the spiritual and material sense. The spiritual power and pressure inherent in this Law decree that the tribal phase for any race is exactly that -- just a phase.

Consequently, any beneficial outworking contained within the power of The Law of Movement for a people will be greatest when and where correct movement is undertaken. For certain ethnic groups, that would translate into leaving tribalism behind and moving toward becoming one Nation, one people.

The history of Islam in Arabia is a case in point. However, not so much because tribal groupings were their own catalyst to eventually becoming one people there, but under the Prophet, Mohammed, the setting-in-place of an ordained new Teaching achieved that goal. However, the ongoing growth of Islam after the death of Mohammed was achieved through the imposition of an aggressive new religion.

The sure outworking of The Law of Movement means that we should continually assess history to try to correct past wrongs. Even though The Divine Laws require us --- indeed command us --- to live in the present, they further command us to strongly heed the lessons available to us from our many errors --- in the Spiritual sense particularly --- if there is not to be stagnation and retrogression.

Thus, The Law of Movement decrees that absolutely nothing can ever stand still. Should a point of stagnation be reached, a new impetus must be developed to prevent the possibility of retrogression. Any new idea, though, should have, as its foundation, the application of Spiritual Law so that only upward movement is generated. For Eternal Primordial Law will drive either upwards or downwards equally powerfully, but exactly in accordance with whatever decision is undertaken!

BEHOLD, MAN, HOW YOU SHOULD WANDER
THROUGH THIS CREATION SO THAT THREADS
OF FATE WILL NOT HINDER BUT FURTHER
YOUR ASCENT

You are allowed to wander through the Creations! This holds the command to constant movement! You must not stand still! You could not in fact do so, because the self-created threads which form your paths always drive you forward according to their nature --- either upwards or straight ahead for a time or also downwards. You can never stop, even if you yourselves should wish to do so! ---------
You may journey through Creation consciously! However, you must not harm others in order to satisfy your personal desires. Live accordingly, and you will then be happy and wander upwards into the Luminous Gardens of your God, there to help in joyful activity with the further and eternal development of this Creation! -------
