DISCOURSE 19
THE LAW --- AND LORE ---
OF NATURE
“The Laws of Nature are the Expression of
The Will of GOD on Earth!”
(IMANUEL: The Spirit of Truth and Son of Man!)
“Only a few natural laws apply to the whole universe which, of itself, testifies to
the existence of a great and Almighty God.”
(Sir Isaac Newton’s stated conviction).
“...to say that everything happens according to natural laws, and to say that
everything is ordained by the decree and ordinance of God, is the same thing.”
(The Wisdom of Israel. [The Wisdom of Spinoza]).
“Look deep into nature and you will understand everything better.”
(Albert Einstein).
“It’s like taking a major hike through the Revelation!”
(Al Gore: On man’s devastation of earth. “An Inconvenient Truth”).
Reader: A succinct encapsulation of the above clearly means that by understanding the true nature of the “Forces of Nature”, we are provided the surest foundation for a more correct understanding of The World!”
You may now ask: What has this subject got to do with the Title of the Work? Well, as with everything revealed herein, the primary reality for us on earth is to know why we are here, what our purpose is, and how to achieve that necessary outcome in the right way, i.e., according to The Divine Laws of Creation! And we have well-learned how that was always ordained to be.
However, since every creature must obey those Primordial Laws or perish, it is obviously imperative that we also know the associated elements of that Eternal Law as expressed through the “Forces of Nature” here on earth. In this Discourse, therefore, that specific imperative reaches into an exact connection with those “elemental/animistic forces”. It is a “connection” that is crucial for our “ongoing existence”.
Subsequently, the fact that our very existence is intimately connected with those “forces” --- which is ultimately about the outworking of Creation-Law on earth --- in close concert; in order to find meaning to, and protection from, the more powerful elements of “weather”, human religions have always sought to understand Nature’s “force and power”!
Now because these “forces” are an essential part of the fabric of Creation-Law, it stands to reason that we should find reference to “them” within the doctrines of the main religions --- and we do. Given the horrendous problems “global warming” wreaks on global societies in its very obvious and dramatic exponential outworking in the 21st century, only by engaging with the knowledge of Creation-Law can the “movers and shakers” of human society attempting to “fix” problems that are in any case “morphing” into insurmountable realities, have any chance of just beginning so-called fixes!
(In terms of religious references to NATURE, in accordance with our primary format, we will examine those inferences at a later point. We will discover that despite such oft-claimed connections to “Natural Law”, in truth the long and detrimental development of supplanting the more normal “spiritual intuition” with the greatly lessened constraint of “earthly intellectual empiricism” has effectively annulled the true connections to the greatest help we could still have had on earth, for it was effectively lost.)
Today, only a relatively few still possess the genuine ability to “see” and “hear” all that the “Nature Beings” still try to impart to us!
THE “SPIRITUAL” CONSEQUENCES OF TRANSGRESSING “MOTHER NATURE’S” SACROSANCT LAWS
We have placed closed commas around the word “Spiritual” for the express purpose of highlighting the fact that there are consequences other than those that “Mother Nature” physically employs to devastate us, our works and our infrastructure --- which in any case we should see as necessary “wake-up” calls. Notwithstanding the destruction that natural catastrophes bring and the subsequent anguish of destroyed homes and livelihoods; the “spiritual” aspect is the more decisive one, for that reaches far beyond just the physical element.
Over the time that this book was written, the threat of “Climate Change” very quickly developed into our number one problem. Our lemming-like numbers fuelling all manner of transgressions against “Mother Nature” have so dangerously altered the once-perfect balance of earth’s many and diverse eco-systems that our very long-term existence as a species is now seriously threatened.
As we have strongly stated: Despite the many international meetings and anguished hand-wringing by “leaders” pontificating over an earth “seriously out of balance”, world events seem to now be so insurmountable that short-term solutions to a given problem simply do not resolve the situation, simply because human rapacious greed and stupidity shows no signs of abating.
The rich nations will not relinquish their “take” of earth’s dwindling resources, and all less-well-off nations aspire to first-world status.
The “super-powers”, of course, will never yield an inch, lest their “standing” be threatened. However, in early 2020, rapidly-rising numbers of infections and deaths from the global Coronavirus pandemic showed that even aircraft carriers could be put out of action. Now there is a real threat to “super-power status”!
The global pandemic taught us that the whole world had to change its ways, with the emphasis on obeying in the first instance The Laws of Nature! If we do not, then another, more deadly virus will surely come our way. (We will revisit this question further on, simply because Covid 19 on its own has demonstrated a “constantly-mutating” ability that infects and kills more efficiently than its former “mutation”. The whole almost unbelievable reality should literally scream to us that we are not in control “down here”.)
Reader: Here's an interesting point about the main “religions”, primarily! Ordinarily, “religions” are wont to proselytise, to warn, about forthcoming fulfilments of great prophecies of doom for the human race. In terms of Christianity, the Revelation states the emergence of such events at the End-time. In concert, the time of the “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” had often been used to warn the flock about an impending Judgement of God!
The “First” of them (I think) rides forth to sow --- wait for it – Pestilence --- amongst global humanity.
Yet despite the Revelation being in existence for a very long time, the “churches” are strangely silent on Covid 19. Of course, it has always been an easy thing to prophesy or warn about “future” events “before the fact”, but when they actually arrive and begin to relentlessly and apparently indiscriminately kill the rich and the poor from every society and every religious group, then perhaps the notion that “we are saved because we believe” is forcefully shattered --- as it will always be under the Perfect Justice of Divine Creation-Law!
Let’s return to the flow of this Text! In terms of the subject matter herein, the quotes that head this Discourse absolutely reflect the reality that Isaac Newton so succinctly encapsulates; that The Law, and Lore, of Nature are exactly that which The Spirit of Truth Proclaims it to be! Einstein also clearly understood the correctness of such a far-reaching and quite final reality that we on earth should always have recognised lived by --- but as a species never did.
Along with Newton and Einstein we can include great scientific “seers” such as Viktor Schauberger, Lyall Watson and David Suzuki. There are others too. Unfortunately, however, the standard and generally accepted educational paradigm of “science” has tended not to stray too far from the self-promoted narrative that has at its core an intellectual-empiricist approach to all things.
Yet we have well-noted the conclusions of Erwin Laszlo as to the veracity of the “Akashic Record”, a non-physical matrix that on a continual basis records and preserves all things ----- including the very thoughts you are generating as you read this. (The cyber-space invention of the “cloud” is perhaps a reasonable “earthly” comparison).
What existed as fact in the realm of spiritual knowledge for a very long time, earth science has now finally “caught-up” with. And that is the key point here!
By virtue of the very Laws of Creation, the Structure of Creation in its --- from our very low material perspective --- ascending order of vaster and ever-vaster Realms of correspondingly lighter consistency, earth-science has no hope of ever getting final answers to the very narrow parameters it dabbles with in the foolish belief that “their stuff” is that of Creation Itself.
Even the incredibly expensive Hadron Collider can do no more than analyse just physical matter. And all the “atom smashing” in the world will never --- can never --- ever get to the true “building-blocks” of Creation! But we digress!
The Jewish philosopher, Spinoza, earned the admiration of giants like Goethe, Hegel, Shelley and Einstein. However, his reference to “everything” being the “decree and ordinance of God” should be understood as those primary things of Creation and Creation-Law! For in our current societies, the horrendous “everything” that takes place on earth is clearly of our foolish and too often ultimately evil human making.
On the subject of our inexcusably ravaged planet, news outlets regularly interview “experts” --- and there are certainly enough of them ---- to enlighten us all on how to “fix” the problems now relentlessly “piling up” --- one on top of another in quick succession. The “experts”, however, being “experts and human”, in their many and varied fields of expertise often disagree on lasting solutions.
We do not mean the now dreadful and very obvious physical and material damage we have inflicted on the only earthly home we will ever have --- that’s a scary thought in its singularity --- for any and every “fix” must be understood to be more than just changing our attitude towards the “geography” and physicality of the earth. Yes; obviously much has to change there, but the more urgent reality is to really “recognise” how it all came to be this way.
Along with the constant reality of new diseases appearing on a more or less regular basis, natural eco-systems are now under threat of complete collapse, and many societies must now cope with over-crowded hell-holes of disease, malnutrition, little sanitation, and exploitation by armed gangs. Others are drug-ridden and violent, with little thought for human life! There we increasingly see the outworking of “man’s inhumanity to man”!
But what’s new? Over many Discourses, you have been exposed to the relentless reality of the immutable, unstoppable and thus unchangeable Eternal Laws of Creation! And reader; in the light of our human “arrival” at this decisive point of an impending, no return and great human cull; in order for the cosmos, the earth and all its creatures to be here in the first place, Creation-Law had to first be enacted so that conscious life could flourish throughout all of Creation. We know that too!
On earth, however; despite the fact that knowledge of Higher Law entered the consciousness of all peoples and races via the many Truth-bringers and Prophets, our appalling arrogance in not heeding such Law and replacing it instead with our now very obviously wrong beliefs and practices, has finally brought us to the critical point of either --- or!
In very direct concert with that now clear Truth; the “ordained message” of our “message” doesn’t change either --- and it is this! --------- It is simply too little, too late!
For inherent in the very nature of Divine Creation-Law is that it must, and will, at the appointed time, no longer permit “imperfect” IMBALANCE to continue. Perfection is the very Life of Creation, and the great and immutable CREATION-LAW OF BALANCE simply cannot be transgressed with impunity by silly human beings.
Our human contribution to that Divinely-Willed Perfection has seen our free-will attribute being permitted to run its course for many thousands of years; all the while, however, with the proviso that one day we would have to pay for not obeying Creation-Law!
Very stupidly, we did not just “not obey”, but paid no heed to the many “beings” also living alongside us --- albeit only seen by a fortunate few today --- who were nonetheless placed here to help and guide us in the correct stewardship of our mostly still beautiful planet.
They are the key subjects in this essential-knowledge Discourse!
So: all you scientists of empiricism, all you religious leaders, all you politicians; you who do not believe, yet who all arrogantly claim to always have the answers ------ tell us; why is the world in such a dire mess? Individually and collectively, why have you not produced what you have always preached --- the way out, the way forward?
In truth, you never could, for your “brand of knowledge” in the end has wrought our final point. Reader: We have arrived!
Let’s now tell you again why that is so! The Great Prophet, Isaiah, will once more enlighten us:
The “Earth” also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they
have
transgressed the “Laws”,
changed the decrees,
broken the everlasting covenant.
What could be clearer than that? We are at our greatest-ever crisis point for three primary reasons!
| 1) | Human arrogance has continually rejected the very regime that works ---- knowledge of the One True Law ---- Prophet Isaiah’s warning admonition! |
| 2) | Human arrogance has, instead, chosen to formulate its own regime of “law” in the quite stupid belief that we, who are simply “developed creatures” in the Great Creation, could somehow know it better than HE WHO CREATED! |
| 3) | Human arrogance has also either rejected the knowledge of the many, many other “beings” of Creation that live and work alongside us or, having once correctly recognised “them” and their greatly beneficial activity for the human race, then fell away from that knowledge whereby what remained was distorted and subsequently relegated to myth and legend. |
Now reader: To seriously “put that right”, we are firstly going to offer educating-enlightenment to “those” who are already aware of the “nature beings” alongside us. To you primarily, therefore, this Discourse will give you detail of what they are, their origins, and certain knowledge of some of their crucial activities that affect our very existence. This deeper knowledge, of course, comes from The All-Truth of Imanuel. For the rest, you may continue to foolishly wallow in your derisive mocking and ignorance of the very beings who are the “Forces of Nature”!
You will therefore learn their Origin in Creation, their purpose and activity in Creation, their activity alongside us, and thus what they have been ordained to prepare on and in the earth ready to facilitate at the appointed hour the final reciprocal actions against us for all we have done against all the Divine Ordinances!
Reader: Have the courage to accept their reality and their God-Willed work, for if you genuinely accept them as the “Servants of God” that they truly are, then you automatically connect yourself to a crucial aspect of Creation-Law as it truly is. Let the mockers go their way. Let them fully experience Isaiah’s great Prophecy of Divine Ordination --- the impending and great and terrible human cull.
In all its undeniable Power, but also in its sublime beauty, “Nature” has struck both fear and wonder into man from the very earliest times. Even today in the last few decades, the so-called “super-powers” of America and China particularly, but also some very wealthy countries such as Japan are powerless and even impotent against the devastating impact of what we term “natural disasters” that have been visited upon them. Despite those countries’ great material wealth and strong Military Forces to call upon, in the end all they can do in the aftermath is to “clean-up and bury the dead”!
What does that tell us? Well, we know that the earth is, in essence, a living body that has powerful “elemental” rhythms and constantly-active currents that flow through the earth, the air and the sea. It is there that the “nature beings” have their field of activity. They have already prepared the earth for the great cleansing of the human race!
Reader: If there were not such “animistic” activity, the earth would effectively be a large and lifeless piece of space-rock, and thus without conscious life-forms. Of course, we know that the whole of the known universe seethes with “activity” that brings birth, life and disintegration to all celestial bodies, each in their time.
Very precise conditions exist in our Solar System and thus concomitantly on earth, without which we human beings could never have developed to a “conscious” state to ultimately rampage over the earth in every wrong way to arrive at our present state of “many crises”; all of our own making!
Should we perhaps consider a “philosophical” question here? Is that which “Mother Nature” visits upon us more and more devastatingly in this 21st century random and/or arbitrary? Or do those increasingly-powerful “visits” ultimately derive from our human input through precise mechanisms as yet not at all recognised by science, but are nonetheless a critical element of what “weather” really is? So; should we simply rely solely on our high-tech weather forecasting systems of satellite images showing us high and low pressure systems “interacting” with each other more intensively to produce the associated “weather events”, and ignore any and every other notion?
Of course, we well understand that modern methods of forecasting are a boon to earthly communities simply because the greater weather events such as hurricanes, tornadoes and deep cold fronts that devastate so comprehensively can no longer “sneak-up” and surprise us as they once did. So that’s one side of the “weather equation”. In that one-sided view, however, lies all that empirical earth science holds to in its intellectual view of “Nature”!
Yet despite the often capricious and seemingly-unpredictable nature of “Mother Nature”, earth-science continually attempts to quantify the “mechanics” of “forces” that in their absolute forceful, pervasive and completely permeating reality, can therefore never be contained, constrained or studied in a lab. For such “forces” have at their heart elements of Creation-Law!
THE ERROR OF SCIENTISM
Scientific disbelief and/or denial of that reality fully demonstrates the very sage: “Error of Scientism”. From The Sacred Balance, by Dr David Suzuki:
“Scientism, the aura of authority carried by scientists, has made us believe that knowledge obtained by scientists is the ultimate authority, that as we accumulate information, our capacity to understand, control and manage our surroundings will grow correspondingly. But the basic principle of scientific exploration contradicts this faith; knowledge comes from empirical observations, which are “made sense of” by hypotheses, which in turn can be experimentally tested. All information is open to being disproved. As Jonathon Marks has pointed out”:
“...the vast majority of ideas that most scientists have ever had have been wrong. They have been refuted; they have been disposed of. Further, at any point in time, most ideas proposed by most scientists will ultimately be refuted and disposed of... Science, in other words, undermines scientism.”
Reader: I am sure you have correctly guessed why that is so. It is very simple! Broadly speaking, the current science paradigm is that of theory, supposition and assumption etc., all backed by various models of “advanced methods of calculations”; all of which are supposed to produce final answers ---- but they invariably do not. What they do provide, however --- and which science very strangely believes means “knowledge-progress” --- is that more and newer questions invariably arise. They, in turn, require “answers”. So, it’s a never-ending carousel of never really arriving at “eureka absolutes”.
And that is because scientists do not proceed from the Primordial “foundation-knowledge” of Creation-Law, including the critical knowledge of the “natural forces” we reveal herein.
It is not intelligent to believe we are making great progress into real knowledge when all we do is find “dead-ends” that need to be studied further. But it keeps universities going, produces professorships of all kinds, but is ultimately just another “M.A.S” --- a “mutual admiration society”!
Because we are proclaiming the Truth of Creation-Law, and because Its Perfect and Immutable Reciprocal Outworking is already well under way in hammering us relentlessly, let’s now travel into a level of knowledge about “nature beings” that most --- as we have said --- will smile at and dismiss ------ for the probable reason that; “they can’t see them”!
The great tragedy for that inane view is that they can see us, and all the harm that we do to our “collective” earthly home. In addition, it is their decreed purpose to now “put that right” ---- forcefully and comprehensively. That shattering process will bring about the Biblical “great wailing and gnashing of teeth” as most of humanity succumbs to the horrendous outcome of their ordained task!
Reader; here’s an interesting observation. Despite the amazing, televised footage of major weather events and earth movements that bring incredible devastation and death to communities more and more frequently, we nonetheless still use the common and very widespread term, “Mother Nature”.
Yet in describing “her power” and her so-called “fury”, we use quite silly and very emotive terms such as savage, terrible, and unfair. Weather is not “emotional”, weather is just “weather”, that’s all. Pleasantly balmy and benign at times, and very powerful in its many guises and inevitable outcomes at others.
Because we have no control whatsoever on what she brings to us, the term “Mother Nature” nonetheless seems to offer some kind of deep-seated comfort in the human psyche, for she also provides for our needs all the bounty of “her” earth.
However, we have not really answered the question of whether the increasingly-powerful weather events are solely the result of “natural” forces, or set in place by our human actions.
We do not mean just the “global warming” aspect stemming from too many people and concomitantly too many polluting devices to accommodate the “aspirations” of all the human lemmings on earth that in the end produce horrendous areas of garbage dumps, polluted water supplies and melting ice sheets; all of which add their share to the serious end-result about to break over us with well-deserved vengeance!
No! What we mean is what you read at the very head of this Discourse as to what The Laws of Nature really are. To extrapolate that Divine Reality< into our earthly human reality, all we need do is to seriously understand the Great Prophet, Isaiah’s, dire warning to us to heed The Law!
THE PROPHET ISAIAH’S “REELING EARTH”
Reader: We have necessarily had to note Isaiah’s key warning to us at various points in the Work, and we will do so in a few more places yet. In brutal visionary-prophecy, Isaiah describes the what, the how, and the why of the complete cleansing of earth of the very many humans who refuse to heed The Eternal Laws as they actually are. Consequently, the end-fate of the greater mass of human beings will be the terrible process of what is termed “The Second Death”!
Yes, reader; you will learn of this reality in a later Discourse for there is not just one “everyday death” with which we are all familiar, but also a second one. In addition, reader: Despite it being very clearly stated in Bible Scripture, leaders of the many denominations of global Christendom are very careful to make “no mention of it”. In truth, they cannot, for it would mean the end of the Christian Church in its present form, because the very foundation of its long-held and very carefully constructed narrative of Christian truth that “He died for us”, would collapse utterly.
That revelation, reader, is waiting for you in that later Discourse. It was never “Willed by God” that human beings should experience “The Second Death”, for HIS LOVE pervades and permeates His Creation. As we well-know, however, we have continually chosen to not obey His Perfect Laws. Therefore, very many will thus have to experience the dreadful reality of that process at the appointed time!
Isaiah first tells us what is to happen to our earthly home! From Isaiah again: 24:19-20, KJV (Italics mine).
‘The “Earth” is utterly broken down, the “Earth” is clean dissolved, the
“Earth” is moved exceedingly.
The “Earth” shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed
from her place.’
In terms of what we have thereby revealed; that chilling potential attributed to human decisions, societal attitudes, and concomitant activity. Isaiah certainly pulled no punches in identifying why. Bad decisions over millennia have produced bad outcomes, not only for societies but for the planet as a whole. And that is our present legacy and ----- Isaiah really understands that Decisions = consequences!
‘The “Earth” mourns and fades away, the “World” languishes and fades
away, the haughty people of the “Earth” do languish. (For);
The “Earth” also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they
have transgressed the “Laws”, changed the decrees, broken the everlasting
covenant.
Therefore has the curse devoured the “Earth”, and those that dwell
therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the “Earth” are burned
and few men left.
(Isaiah 24: 4-6 KJV, Italics mine.)
Whilst that unfortunate reality is stark indeed, Fenton’s translation of Isaiah’s 24:20 Scripture more closely approximates the frightening power of the event in terms of what we should expect and thus seriously heed.
“For windows from on high are opened,
And the earth’s foundations shake!
And the land with crashing crashes,
And the land with breaches breaks!
Tottering land meets ground that totters,
Staggering earth like drunkard staggers,
And flapping, quivers like a tent;
And her crimes are heavy on her,
She will fall, nor rise again!”
What might modern-day scientists and “empirical science” make of the above statements? Except for the relatively few who have broken out of the strait-jacket of ‘empirical intellectualism’ (or intellectual empiricism), most would probably dismiss the whole idea of Bible prophecy --- accurate enough to pinpoint future events of such catastrophic power sufficient to produce a “reeling Earth” --- as religious nonsense. Yet Ferrar Fenton’s translation of just one line of Isaiah’s vision [24:20] —
“And the Earth’s foundations shake” ----- should strike a chord of serious warning for all scientists whose field of ‘expertise’ lies in anything even remotely connected with “earth stuff”.
So: What does this really mean for the earth-scientist? More to the point, perhaps, should scientists take note of such prophecies, or be derisively dismissive of them? As we have already stated, what Isaiah was gifted to ‘see’ and give warning for future humanity was the vastly amplified activity of ‘Plate Tectonics’.
When first mooted early last century, it was, of course, dismissed by the “scientific establishment” as impossible nonsense. Now we all know Plate Tectonics to be “scientific” fact. Reader: Is that not surely a perfect example of “The Error of Scientism”. A “reeling Earth” which “shakes its very foundation”? Is this impossible nonsense too? Not now! For this we also now know to be “scientifically feasible”. How?
Earth-science and global humanity have the quite recent experience of knowing that the whole Earth can actually shake from just one, albeit very large but nevertheless single, earth movement. The devastating and catastrophic experience of the Indian Ocean tsunami, Boxing Day, 2004, has surely shaken any scientific scepticism that such a thing was not possible. A “reeling Earth” with mountains and islands ‘moved out of their places’ would certainly result in unimaginable and horrendous death and destruction.
As we are talking about Bible Prophecy: On this very subject, here’s one for you. At this time of multiple disasters for global humanity, Revelation 6:12 portends what is waiting to be unleashed --- “the greatest earthquake since men have been on earth”. It is described as “inflicting severe topographic and geologic changes on a global scale”.
If we can truly picture such a catastrophic event, we would likely experience multiple earth-movements perhaps producing a very rapid ‘sundering’ ripple-effect which would trigger multiple volcanic eruptions along all of earth’s fault lines. The destruction and devastation wrought on that scale would produce millions, indeed billions of lives lost. For with it would come tsunami on a scale not ever known before. The precedent for Isaiah’s “shaking Earth”, therefore, has now been experienced by ‘science’ and present-day humanity!
We might have hoped that the Great Prophet’s harder vision would not eventuate. Unfortunately, however, human behaviour and activity has already proceeded too far past what is acceptable to immutable, unstoppable Creation-Law! And it is simply because; “...they (we) have transgressed the “Laws”, changed the decrees, broken the everlasting covenant.”
The damage we have wrought is easy enough to see and simple to understand in terms of what that means for global humanity. For within the parameters of the upheavals that will accompany the “earth-cleansing process” will also be the reciprocal outcomes for all human beings too. That will take effect for each individual, for families, for the various races, for nations and, not least of course, for the numerous aspiritual religions and belief-systems humankind have spawned. The extent to which individuals and/or collectives will be affected will depend on the degree of compliance or non-compliance with The Laws of Creation. We should probably more correctly say in place of compliance/non-compliance --- acceptance or rejection!
Now, a small exercise; if we truly are near the point where the “cleansing” or “tribulation” is due to set in, then we should be able to detect at least the beginnings of that process via increased Elemental-force “Nature” activity.
This effect should thus clearly reveal itself in more and more disruptive and destructive weather patterns affecting societies and countries detrimentally. Quite obviously, there is such increased activity, the like of which even weather scientists now view with alarm. This new “weather development” therefore clearly heralds this impending cleansing process. For we can all see that they are caused through human-induced “activity” transgressing The Divine Laws of Creation!
Even once obtuse governments and their politicians have now realised the potential for greater disasters. In 2021, COP 26, the supposedly great game-changer, international conference to stop global warming and save the planet --- and by extension also save 7 billion + human beings who, perversely, all want the world to be their way --- in the end certainly produced some “right words”. But all such conferences do, don’t they? That is the nature of politicians --- talkers!
n perfect accompaniment, once more Isaiah warns us all:
“Ten men will take counsel and it will come to naught.”
Prior to the conference, leaders of many religions gathered at the Vatican. Under the glare of international television cameras, they all prayed together to help the politicians attending COP 26 to make the right decisions for the earth and people of it. Let’s state this so-apt Scripture from Isaiah again:
“Though you multiply praying, I never will listen.”
The pope also said: “The earth is the greatest gift to human beings, so we must look after it”!
Reader: There the pope is wrong! The greatest gift to human beings has always been the knowledge of The Truth of God. The earth as our material home, though obviously necessary, is nonetheless ancillary to that, for the material world could only proceed from His Living Word of Divine Truth!
Therefore, had we obeyed that Truth, there would never have been the need for endless conferences that in the end have not changed the clearly now inevitable and inexorable path leading to our desolation --- including all the religions!
To that end-fate, what the pope carefully avoided were the great prophecies detailing our “desolation” --- long-prophesied in “his reference book”, the Bible --- that are now actually on our doorstep.
Let’s note The Laws of Creation again! They are:
1. The Law of Movement
2. The Law of Reciprocal Action (Sowing and Reaping)
3. The Law of Attraction of Similar Species
4. The Law of Spiritual Gravity
5. The Law of Rebirth
6. The Law of Balance
In direct concert with the subject matter of this particular Discourse; in the clear understanding that the outworking of those inviolable Creation-Laws must bring us all to our respective family, cultural/religious, national, and thus geographic locations on the planet, we have concomitantly learned that the outworking of those Laws on earth are largely expressed as the “Laws of Nature”.
We have used terms such as “Elemental force”, and both the Law, and “Lore”, of the “Forces of Nature”! In our long human journey, we of the modern, supposedly enlightened, intellect believe we have “progressed” from the primitive views of the even quite recent past of belief in “nature beings” and the like. Mostly, we have also moved away from shamanistic-type “healing methods” to fully embrace “modern medical science” with its nonetheless very obvious benefits to heal and repair. Even with such beneficial advances for the physical body, however, the notion of “holistic medicine” --- if it can be fully understood and therefore “fully” implemented --- is promoted as the ultimate healing regime in modern medical practice. That means offering “healing” for the whole person. To fulfil that vision, it is first necessary to “recognise” where that complementary “holism” actually springs from in Creation!
To that end, let’s start revealing this knowledge and its concomitant and crucially-vital “connection”! It is one that, to our great detriment through our embracing of too-strong intellectualism, we have actually turned away from!
Now, if we examine really deeply the languages of all the peoples of earth throughout its history, we discover a very interesting fact. Without exception, every single group and race firstly recognised specific “beings of nature”, and secondly to which they then gave name. Save for “modern”, primarily “Western”, man, there are no exceptions to that reality. Once, long ago, we all thought and believed the same!
Despite the fact that we have learned that by Divine Ordination and God-Willed help time and again, there should by now be only one Teaching of Final Truth for all men --- which also encompasses the key knowledge of the Elemental Beings anyway --- great divisions now exist between different cultures and peoples as to the “truth” or otherwise of their “existence”!
Here’s an interesting aspect of this subject, reader: By virtue of the fact that such entities are clearly mentioned in the Bible, Christian Church orthodoxy should therefore readily accept them as “real”. However, the long and convoluted history of that organisation to the present day; in their rigid distortion of the deep Truths the Bible actually contains, still labelled such beliefs as tending towards “demonism”. So, let’s quote unequivocal and unambiguous Scripture about the “Nature Beings” on earth.
From Psalm 104, Verse 4: NIV Bible.
“He makes the winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants.”
From Ferrar Fenton’s translation: Psalm 104, Stanza 1, verses 3-5:
The clouds His chariots form,
On wings of winds proceeds
His Couriers are the storms!
His Agents flames of fire!
He fixed the Earth on laws
Unchanged throughout all times.
We therefore know that the Truth of Nature Beings is alive and well in the Bible. Moreover, despite global Christendom’s grave discomfort with the very notion of “nature beings”, in the context of this Work and its no-nonsense and seriously-indicting subject matter, the Bible nonetheless reveals what should be a joyously-stated CHRISTIAN reality. However, that is not seen in Christian congregations. For most of them, the official tenet that it’s all of the “darkness” actually prevents them from a deeper understanding of Creation, the Great Work of Whom they say they worship.
So, what do the other “two” believe about this subject? In terms of our standard format of determining where the “big three” stand on all the critical issues about “life” and Creation-Law, it is equally important to also know whether the core teachings of Islam and Judaism possess the same degree of knowledge as at least the Bible does.
ISLAM AND “NATURE”
Let’s look at what one Muslim academic has to say. Professor Odeh al-Jayyousi is head of Innovation and Technology Management at Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain. A published author of “Islam and sustainable development” and “Integral Innovation”, he is also a member of UN GEO6- Scientific Advisory Panel.
He argues that Islamic worldview represents a unique model for a transition to sustainable development by focusing on justice, degrowth and harmony between human and nature.
He further commented that Islam views the environmental challenges as an indicator for a moral and ethical crisis. Looking at the creation of human, Earth and cosmos as signs of the Creator is a key in Islamic values.
The good professor states that Islamic worldview defines a good life (as) living lightly on Earth and caring for both people and nature. Islamic discourse offers a sense of hope and optimism about the possibility of attaining harmony between human and nature. Earth will find a balance if humans rethink their lifestyles and mindsets as stated in the Quran.
Corruption has appeared in both land and sea
Because of what people’s own hands have brought
So that they may taste of what they have done
So that hopefully they will turn back.
Qur’an 30:41
Professor Al-Jayyousi calls for a revival of the holistic view of Islam which is founded on the notion of harmony and “natural state” and in respecting balance and proportion in the systems of the universe. These notions provide an ethical dimension and a mandate for all humans to respect nature and all forms of life.
From an Islamic perspective, he opines that overcoming environmental crisis and mitigating the effect of climate change must be underpinned by defining the role of humans as trustees and stewards. Human overconsumption, overexploitation and overuse of resources have disturbed the balance.
Islamic values call to save the integrity and to protect the diversity of all forms of life. He commented that the ecological crisis is linked to human ethics and values. Human actions are responsible for the global ecological crisis. He says:
”Reflecting on the main environmental problems, such as the destruction of natural habitats, loss of biodiversity, climate change, and erosion of soil, we see that all are triggered by human greed and ignorance. Human responsibility is to save and protect livelihood and ecosystem services to ensure a sustainable civilization learning from and reflecting on the fate of past civilizations”.
He cited a verse from the Quran, “Every living thing is in a state of worship”. He commented that when one hurts a bird or plant, he/she is silencing a community of worshippers. To celebrate the symphony of life, all human need to celebrate and protect biological and cultural diversity.
Religion can become a powerful part of the solution if humans embody a holistic spiritual view towards mankind, earth and cosmos.
Al-Jayyousi aspires to see a new Islamic discourse that emphasizes and links faith, reason and empathy to ensure an ecological insight. He calls to rethink educational systems that neglected the beauty and majesty of nature and the cosmos.
He warns: “The extinction of species around us which are simply communities like us may extend to humankind unless we change our worldviews and development models.”
“Conflict and poor governance are putting the Middle East and North Africa at jeopardy.”
He calls for a sustainable region that is founded on human and environmental justice. An optimist, Prof. Al-Jayyousi is inspired by prophet Mohammed’s saying, “If it is the last day and you have a small plant, make sure that you plant it”.
Reader: Ordinarily we would comment on many points of contributing views, such as the above. However, what Professor Al-Jayyousi is calling for is really no different to what thousands of others around the globe from different nations, religions and cultures also advocate.
Whilst he and too-many others like him espouse their religion as being the only answer to all the world’s problems, he fails to see that “conflict putting the Middle East and North Africa at jeopardy” is exactly the result of religion, for that is now the “inexcusable” curse of the human race. Despite his quite altruistic plea for greater education and awareness of the beauty of nature and the cosmos and a Creator of it all, nowhere in his “text” does he refer to, or even tend towards, any inkling that there are precise and final Laws of Creation.
It is only through and by such LAW, might we once have been able to turn our foolish and destructive human path around. Judaism may have something to offer on the knowledge of the indispensable “Beings of Nature”! Let’s find out.
JUDAISM AND “NATURE”
From; ---- my JEWISH LEARNING
Jewish Views on Nature and the Environment
To whom does the earth belong?
Theology
Biblical views of the natural world, on which later Jewish traditions
draw, are diverse. They begin with radical amazement at the very
existence of a universe that is vast and infinitely varied and yet in many
ways orderly. The chaotic forces are understood to be as much a part of
nature as the regular, predictable patterns. To the extent that the forces
of nature can be harnessed, it is the job of humanity to be the stewards of
the world, and to act on behalf of its rightful Owner. ... Furthermore, we
human beings owe a debt of gratitude for the world we inhabit, which
provides us with sustenance and with pleasures. Consuming the products
of divine creation, then, is an occasion for us to acknowledge the Creator.
Traditional Teachings
In our role as tenders and tillers of the fecund world and consumers of
its vegetation and of some of its other inhabitants ...... people are called
upon to exercise reverential care for natural resources. This is an
extension --- a surprising one, perhaps --- of wider ethical principles; some
prophetic traditions speak of society-wide moral decadence bringing on
environmental disaster.
In its legal culture as well as its ethical literature, Judaism takes note of
the need to care for the natural environment. Jewish law forbids the
wanton destruction of natural resources, taking its cue from a biblical
prohibition against cutting down fruit trees in the course of laying siege to
a city in warfare. The biblical law of a sabbatical year every seventh year,
during which all land lies fallow, may also be an embodiment of an insight
about environmental sustainability.
Contemporary Concerns
Environmentally conscious Jewish living is not a new concept. A popular
medieval pietistic work, Sefer Hasidim, asserts that righteous persons
grieve when even a single mustard seed is wasted. Today’s environmental
activists argue that we need not institute a rigorous “mustard seed test”
to discern that Jewish families and communities have a long way to go
before the tradition’s insights into the need to protect the fragile and
splendid natural environment are embodied in practice.
Our next Jewish contributor is Rabbi Daniel Swartz. His dissertation on Judaism and its relationship to Nature is very well presented in his online website. Refreshingly, in there we finally do find reference to “beings of nature”.

Israel Environment & Nature: A Brief History of Nature in
Jewish Texts
‘Once upon time --- but this is neither a fairy tale nor a bedtime story
--- we knew less about the natural world than we do today. Much less. But
we understood that world better, much better, for we lived ever closer to
its rhythms.
Most of us have wandered far from our earlier understanding, from our
long-ago intimacy. We take for granted what our ancestors could not,
dared not, take for granted; we have set ourselves apart from the world of
the seasons, the world of floods and rainbows and new moons, Nor,
acknowledging our loss, can we simply reverse course, pretend to
innocence in order to rediscover our intimacy. Too much has intervened.
But we can explore the ways we once were, the times when we lived
off the land, when we lived in the Land.
Our purpose in so doing is not to shake our heads in disbelief, whether
at the naiveté of old or the alienation of our own time. We do it in order to
assess the ingredients of our loss, as also of our gain, to inquire whether
here and there, perhaps even more than merely here and there, our
modern sophistication can be married to the ancient intimacy, whether we
can move from our discord with nature to an informed harmony with this,
God’s universe.
Accordingly, it is not about the good old days. It is about us, and about
how we came to be where we are. It is about our people and its
relationship to the natural world.
Not all of us, throughout all our history, lived intimately with nature, but
some of us did most of the time and most of us did some of the time.
Which of us? When? What is in fact, the story of our shifting relationship
with the natural environment? And where does that story, along with our
own, point us now?’
As we stated earlier, in Rabbi Daniel Swartz’s very informative presentation, we do find reference to “beings” other than human. In Maimonides’ “Guide for the Perplexed”, he states:
“It should not be believed that all the beings exist for the sake of the existence of humanity. On the contrary, all the other beings have been intended for their own sakes, and not for the sake of something else.”
CHRISTIANITY AND “NATURE”
On that Judaic note it is very timely to once more refer to the Great Prophet, Isaiah for his clear, visionary insight precisely about those “other beings” that also occupy their particular place in Creation. They, too, are part of that vast network; in which they carry out their purpose in accordance with Divine Creation-Will --- just as we were always meant to do! Now, very unfortunately for us, we have become too clever; too intellectually sophisticated to even deign to consider such “fairy tales”.
From the Psalms of David, a telling Scripture about those “beings” should help keep us on this so-crucial track!
“Thou Who maketh Thine angels into winds and Thy servants into flames of fire.”
Chapter 18, verse 3 from the Book of Isaiah clarifies David’s “spiritual” insight. All emphases are mine.
“All ye inhabitants of the world, AND dwellers on the earth, see ye, when He lifteth up an ensign on the mountains, and when He bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.”
O.K. reader; let’s break down that Scripture. Firstly, we have the conjunction --- AND --- that clearly separates two very distinct groups occupying two very different places in Creation! Concomitantly, therefore, the inhabitants of the world are very obviously not the dwellers on the earth!
Isaiah’s serious “message” to us on earth means that in our intellectually-derived human knowledge, vast gaps clearly exist between what we think exists, and what is actually out there. Any and all “gaps in knowledge” thus represent a “picture” that is not only wrong, but, if not rectified, is forever wrong!
Despite the great libraries of the world containing millions of volumes of “knowledge”, what we have learned in just this one Work --- so far --- is that that is simply not enough, for that level of human erudition does not even take us out of the physical paradigm, and thus constraint, of a solely “physical/material” world.
So, in terms of Christianity and “Nature Beings”, let’s look at perhaps the most celebrated case recorded in the Bible. Of course, we are free to believe the event, or not believe it. However, as we have said so often, disbelief of a Creation-Law reality --- irrespective of whether it is supposed to “fit” with our human ideas of how the world “should be” --- ultimately represents a denial of, and thus refusal to accept, Divine Creation-Law! That’s clearly not good reader; and certainly not intelligent.
The assistance afforded Moses is well-documented, with two instances of particular note being the “pillar of fire” which guided his vast caravan, “manna” from heaven for bread, birds for meat, and water accessed by Moses who knew where it was flowing under the ground.
The Bible also contains examples of even supposedly savage animals not offering harm to particular individuals where, in the situations described, they perhaps normally would. Daniel in the lion’s den stands as a prime example. However, the especially celebrated event from the Bible that we allude to offers the greatest insight into this question of “Elemental Beings” and their ordained activity alongside humankind.
Most people with even a rudimentary grasp of the Bible, even from “Sunday School” level, are probably aware of the story of the “miracle” of Jesus calming the wind and waves during a storm on the Sea of Galilee. In this particular instance the Disciples, alarmed at the increasing strength of the storm, were fearful for their lives. From the Book of Mark (4:37-41, Fenton) we read:
And a very heavy gale began to blow and the waves rushed into the
boat, so that it was rapidly filling. And He Himself was at the stern
asleep on a cushion. They accordingly aroused Him, exclaiming,
“Teacher! Do you not care if we perish?” Upon awakening, He
restrained the wind, and said to the sea, “Silence! be still!” The wind
then lulled and there was perfect calm.
“Why”, He asked them, “do you doubt in this way? How is it that you
cannot yet have faith?”
But they became terrified; and said to one another, “What can He
be? for even the wind and the sea obey Him?”
This event is accepted by Christians as one that actually occurred but is labelled a miracle. However, to understand what actually took place, we must apply The Primordial Laws of Creation to it, since absolutely nothing can take place in any part of Creation except under the aegis of The Law! And since Jesus Himself declared that He had “...not come to abolish The Laws but to complete them”, the calming of the wind and the waves could only be possible under those Eternal Laws.
Now, by virtue of His Origin from out of The Divine, The Son of God would clearly have known of the existence of the “Elemental Beings of Nature”.
Moreover, not only would He have been aware of them but, because of His High Origins and associated Power over all else below that level, all “Nature Beings” and their activities would have been naturally subordinate to His Command. For it would be foolish to believe that He was rebuking the actual substance of water and wind. That is a notion silly in the extreme.
No, the clear illustration here is that He was admonishing a force or energy that has its field of activity in what we loosely call the natural world and weather. A ‘force’ which gave rise to the increased agitation of the wind and water that instilled fear in the Disciples, thus the “Forces”, or “Beings”, of Nature!
Acceptance of this event as being one of unequivocal Truth presupposes the clear inference that the only viable mechanism under which the “calming of the wind and waves” could have occurred in the manner illustrated --- in particular being commanded to “cease their activities” --- is via the activity of “Nature Beings”. It is under the umbrella of inviolable Primordial Law, therewith, that they fulfil their ordained purpose, of which Jesus would have perfectly understood every single ramification!
Through this clearly recorded incident, we are able to offer one more illustration to show that “Elemental Forces of Nature” produce the effects of the varying levels of interrelated weather outcomes in storms, natural disasters and catastrophes which so effectively destroy man and his works. This ultimately occurs through the direct correlation between spiritually-wrong personal and collective decisions produced by our human volition, and the subsequent outcomes returned to humankind under the great and unstoppable Law of Sowing and Reaping.
Do we hear derisive sneers and laughter from the “sophisticated intellectuals” of academia, perhaps more so from weather scientists and forecasters? Most probably! Now in 2021, the increasing frequency and intensity of storms world-wide, and of extreme weather patterns producing intense and prolonged droughts virtually alongside areas of devastating inundations are a disturbing reality. In addition, bizarre instances occur where, in increasing forest-fire conflagrations, homes that are strangely untouched stand amid the ruins of others burnt to the ground.
What we are also observing is the more frequent use of superlatives needed to attempt to describe the continuing catalogue of Mother Nature’s “handiwork”.
Words such as heaviest, longest, driest, severest, worst in living memory and worst ever recorded, etc., clearly reveal an emerging pattern that is not solely the product of journalistic jingoism. Something very different is now taking place on earth the like of which we have not experienced before, something that is producing feelings ranging from uncertainty and unease in the minds of more and more people, to outright fear. It is something that cannot be completely explained by the felling of the rain forests, global warming, or a burgeoning global population. Even the feared “El Nino” phenomenon, which is clearly capable of producing great devastation, is simply only the activity of these “elemental forces of nature”.
It is interesting to note that the U.S. Geological Survey, the body responsible for monitoring earth-movements in the United States and elsewhere, has observed a large increase in world-wide earthquake activity over 7 on the Richter scale in the decades from the 1930's and 40’s. Up until the point when records were first kept, numbers of earthquakes of that magnitude were relatively infrequent. The most interesting aspect of these findings is that various people who have studied this data do not know why such a huge increase has occurred.
However, since nothing can occur without a reason, and as everything must take place under the umbrella of The Eternal Laws, the answers can be found within those parameters, even if “scientifically unacceptable” at this point in time.
Since modern science has relegated “Nature Beings” to the realm of superstitious myth and legend, and because their existence probably cannot ever be proved by scientific means, it follows that the scientific community will probably never accept even the possibility of such ‘beings’. Notwithstanding this attitude from that particular direction, Dr Lyall Watson, an eminent Biologist, (in our view one of the very few “knowing voices in the scientific community”) produced a remarkable series of books exploring the intellectually-perceived “no-go zone” between empirical science and the “other-world” reality. In that series he has documented some stunningly remarkable and totally unexpected insights.
In particular, his books, “Supernature” and “Gifts of Unknown Things” reveal amazing incidents inexplicable according to man’s accepted scientific criteria but naturally factual under the higher knowledge of Elemental and Spiritual Law. As a scientist, he was able to bridge the humanly-created “impossible zone” between the discipline of science and the less clearly defined area of religiosity, and logically marry many aspects of the two-world beliefs. His research has greatly helped to dispel the myth that such a “no-go area” actually exists in the first place.
In reality it cannot, for all things between the tangible and the equally-real intangible are, in various ways, precisely and lawfully connected anyway. Let’s now look at that notion.
NATIVE AMERICAN UNDERSTANDING OF “NATURE”
Some years ago, Jostein Gaarder, author of “Sophie’s World”, noted the great concern for our poisoned “home”, from which a new thought of “ecophilosophy” has emerged. Arne Naess, a Norwegian philosopher and one of the founders of this “idea”, coined the word, “ecosophy”.
He and others --- mainly in the West --- believe that “...western civilisation as a whole is on a fundamentally wrong track, racing toward a head-on collision with the limits of what our planet can take”. Moreover, the idea that man is “...master of nature ... could prove to be fatal for the whole living planet”.
Prophetic words indeed! Many years after they were stated, the reality is plain for all global citizens to see and be concerned about.
Consequently, these particular philosophers “...have looked to the
thinking and ideas of other cultures ... and have also studied the thoughts and
customs of so-called primitive peoples --- or ‘native peoples’ such as the Native
Americans --- in order to discover what we have lost”.
(Sophie’s World, p 384-5. Emphases mine.)
On that basis, how strong is --- or perhaps was ---- that peoples’ connection to “Nature”? In terms of their specific environment, the life of the Native Americans of the Northern United States revolved very much around the sharply delineated seasonal changes that characterise the Continental United States. The mountain range of the Rockies running in a north/south direction rather than across the land means that sudden unseasonable Arctic blasts can occur unpredictably, reaching as far south as Florida at times.
By striving to understand their “feeling” for the environment, we may deduce whether or not there existed genuine knowledge of the Elemental Forces of Nature and not simply a fear-ridden, superstitious attitude of resigned acceptance to the natural forces surrounding them, either in the movement of life-sustaining animals, or in the vagaries of the weather.
The Plains Indian, utilising mainly the bison to provide virtually all of his shelter and clothing needs, was acutely attuned to the minutest changes in the natural environment surrounding him, and therefore to the weather too. Whereas certain Indigenous peoples fearfully saw dark and dangerous entities at every turn --- forms that had to be appeased or countered in some way --- the Plains Indian, in stark contrast, generally saw only the greatness of the “Elemental forces” serving, nurturing, and protecting his world.
In his veneration of those “forces”, he not only gave thanks for all he was given but sought to emulate their goodness in the way he related to those animals and birds whose lives he necessarily took for food, clothing and shelter. The ethos of the Native American Indians before the arrival of the European inherently encompassed an elevated outlook where gratitude to the “Great Spirit” was invariably the first consideration. It was not fear of their environment but rather respect for life and veneration of its “Giver”!
That recognition is well exemplified in one short sentence taken from a lengthy address by: “One of the most important figures among Native American leaders of the eighteenth century...”
That “most important figure” was a Seneca leader popularly known as “Red Jacket” because of a British Officer’s jacket he wore. His actual name was Sogoyewapha. From “Red Jacket’s commentary on the spiritual beliefs of the Native Americans (1805)”; in Karl Nagelfell’s “North American Indian Chiefs”, we read:
“For all these favours we thank the Great Spirit, and Him only.”
One can note powerful, intuitive insights here that closely approximate the essence of The First Commandment. In the case of the Native Americans, however, it is clearly a voluntary reverence stemming from a quite natural recognition of the beneficence of the natural world which, in turn, draws its offerings from the Great Spirit.
Contrast that stance with the fear element promoted by some churches toward the same Commandment from the time of the Dark Ages even to the present. Red Jacket addressed the European colonist’s attitude to land and religion too. In the following observations, he sagely notes:
“You have got our country, but are not satisfied...
You want to force your religion upon us...
We understand that your religion is written in a Book...
Brother, you say there is but one way to worship the Great Spirit.
If there is but one religion, why do you white people differ so much
about it? ...
Why not all agreed, as you can all read the Book? ...
We are told that your religion was given to your forefathers...
We also have a religion which was given to our forefathers and has
been handed down to us...
It teaches us to be thankful for all the favours we receive, to love each
other, and to be united.
We never quarrel about religion.”
In this exceptionally noble outlook lived the strongest connections to the Elemental Forces, and equally powerful veneration of “The Giver of Life”. Even though sometimes needing to take the lives of his own at times, it was not generally in complete disregard for that life; again, in stark contrast to that which other people savagely displayed. Whilst the Indian “brave” was most certainly a fearless warrior, it is unlikely that this aspect of him ever degenerated to the more and regular blood-thirsty practices of some other races. Generally, it remained as noble as it was possible to be in the circumstances of his existence, in both the pre- and post-European phases of his life.
For even under extreme provocation and duress at the encroachment of European settlement, and the more brutal behaviour of the “Frontier Army” at times, the demeanour of this people generally remained far nobler than should have been expected of any race. Their veneration for the natural world that was inherently carried within, instilled in them the strength they closely identified with in the power of the ‘elements’, and in the power and natural nobleness of the bison and the eagle.
In direct concert, over the past decades we have been fortunate to have access to many hundreds of “David Attenborough” type wildlife films that in their increasingly high resolution clearly reveal the elemental nobleness that is the natural trait of all wild creatures. Yes, we know that some of the interactions between predator and prey might not fit easily with our human sensibilities, but that doesn’t detract from the element of “nobleness” we are stating here, for they live completely and perfectly in their evolutionary “place”. We, on the other hand, kill, maim and enslave to achieve ends that have not one ounce of nobleness whatsoever.
Thus, what we have lost is exactly that for which we offer explanations here and is exactly that which the Plains Indians once had to an ennobled degree. Even though latter-day philosophers are endeavouring to find that lost knowledge, which they obviously believe exists, will they be able to accept the notion of non-material “Elemental Beings”?
As we have stated, despite being “invisible” to virtually all of humankind, they are nevertheless capable of exerting huge, weather-induced, physical effects on the environment. They are effects that, in a clearly material way, have the power to devastate man and his works.
However, we need to very seriously get it through our obtuse heads that there is no arbitrariness in “their activity”. Let’s recap. We should all have learned this by now:
In both the seen and the unseen parts of the whole great Creation, our human decision-making ability produces innumerable threads that interlace, cross and connect to power streams which, under the outworking of the driving power of Eternal Law, return to us the Lawful reciprocity of those decisions --- tenfold. It is part of the ordained activity of the Elemental Forces of Nature to thus produce the very events that devastate us and our works.
With regard to the Plains Indians’ culture and our assertion that it was most likely the vast openness of the land that produced such an ennobled outlook in the inhabitants, Colin F. Taylor, in his book: “Native American Myths and Legends”, notes the powerful effect the Great Plains exerted. The following notation strongly reinforces that premise.
“There seems to be something within the unique environment of the Great Plains which causes a people to live with such vivid intensity and an awareness and understanding of the things around them. The Plains Indian was so much in daily association with his environment and so dependent upon it, that not only animals but plant life and even some inanimate objects were believed to have a spiritual existence. There was an awareness of a great power --- the energy or moving force of the great universe --- which, in the sacred language of the Lakota shamans, was called Skan or To and the blue of the sky symbolised its presence.”
From the same publication, a senior Cavalry Officer whose Military Service encompassed this part of America, had this to say about the initial effect the Plains could have on people.
“The first experience of the Plains, like the first sail with a cap full of wind, is
apt to be sickening. This once overcome, the nerves stiffen, the senses
expand and man begins to realize the magnificence of being.”
(Col. Richard Dodge, 1877. p.41 both.)
It is a great pity that the greatest bulk of European “settlers” in America did not also “realize the magnificence of being”. Instead, they displayed the extreme arrogance of their self-righteous and self-centred ethos of “Manifest Destiny” which wrought their “kill and pillage” rampage wherever they went and settled. If they had held to even the smallest measure of respect for that new and once-magnificent land and its creatures, passenger pigeons, killed in their billions to final extinction, might still be flying in their once great flocks, and many more bison might have been spared from senseless slaughter in their tens of thousands just for their tongues and hides.
Two striking examples of the deep, innate understanding that the “Red Man” had for his environment are now preserved for posterity. One is an address attributed to White Cloud, a principal chief of the Iowa tribe. (However, it was probably stated by ‘Wa-cha-mon-ya’, regarded as the tribe’s greatest orator.)
Also, similar in vein to “White Cloud’s statement” of great wisdom, Chief Seattle, great chief of the Duwamish, upon “surrendering” his land to Governor Isaac Stevens in 1854, addressed the gathering in what is probably inadequately described as; “...the most beautiful and profound statement on the environment ever made”!
We will look at his equally valuable wisdom shortly. Let’s first contrast the European settlers’ ethos with White Cloud’s far greater understanding of the earth’s “natural forces” --- a level of wisdom that, through very good science, we really only began to understand properly in just the last few decades.
The Circle of Life
“Man has a poor understanding of life.
He mistakes knowledge for wisdom.
He tries to unveil the Holy secrets of our Father,
the Great Spirit.
He attempts to impose his Laws and ways on Mother Earth.
Even though he, himself, is part of Nature,
he chooses to disregard and ignore it
for the sake of his own immediate gain.
But the Laws of Nature are far stronger than those of mankind.
Man must awaken at last, and learn to understand
how little time remains
before he will become the cause of his own downfall.
And he has much to learn. To learn to see with his heart.
He must learn to respect Mother Earth ---
She who has given life to everything;
to our Brothers and Sisters, the Animals and the Plants,
to the Rivers, the Lakes, the Oceans and the Winds.
He must realise that the Planet does not belong to him,
but that he has to care for and maintain the delicate balance of Nature
for the sake of the wellbeing of our children and of all future generations.
It is the duty of man to preserve the Earth
and the Creation of the Great Spirit.
Mankind being but a grain of sand in the Holy Circle
which encloses All Life.”
What do you think, reader? If every one of the endless conferences held to agonise over the problems of our planet were preceded by White Cloud’s statement, perhaps better outcomes might emerge, for such addresses really bring to our recent history the very same kinds of warning prophecies made over two thousand years ago. The corporate world and globalisation, however, pay no heed to the kind of “planet-saving” wisdom that should have been set in place long before the “too-late” reality that is now upon us!
